I was grateful to join Channahon Mayor Missey Moorman Schumacher to celebrate the groundbreaking of The Talia, a project made possible by my Affordable Housing Tax Credit Improvement Act. I’m committed to expanding affordable housing across Illinois so seniors, working families, and young people have access to an essential part of the American Dream.

It was great to tour the new Petrick Idea Center at Illinois Wesleyan University with @SBA_Kelly and meet with students building the next generation of businesses. Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, we're helping small businesses and entrepreneurs invest, grow, and create opportunities in communities across Illinois.

Started off my day at the 18th annual Community Prayer Breakfast, hosted by the Germantown Hills Chamber of Commerce and Metamora Area Business Association. It was great to hear Carl Cannon of Elite Community Outreach deliver a powerful address as the keynote speaker. Many thanks to the local leaders from schools, nonprofits, faith communities, government, and small businesses who joined this morning and for their collaboration on projects that continue to enhance the quality of life for central Illinois families.

I was honored to participate in yesterday’s groundbreaking ceremony for Eureka Apostolic Christian Home’s new facility, Walnut Crossing. As they celebrate 60 years of serving seniors, their faith-centered mission and record of outstanding care continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents and their families. Congratulations to Rockford and Winnebago County on becoming the first community in Illinois to be named an American World War II Heritage City! From Camp Grant and local manufacturing to the service and sacrifice of families from the region, the Greater Rockford Area played a critical role in the Allies' victory. I was honored to join hundreds of volunteers in our Peoria community for Goodwill’s 18th Annual Stand Down for Homeless Veterans this morning. This incredible event served more than 250 veterans by providing them with winter essentials and helping connect them with the care and services they need, including haircuts and health screenings. A special thanks to the entire Goodwill staff, every volunteer and the veteran assistance organizations that came together to support those who served our country. 🇺🇸

I stopped by Peoria Christian High School and spoke with a bright group of students about how legislation becomes law, the importance of providing good constituent service and the role my faith plays in my day-to-day life. Many thanks to Superintendent Lyons, Principal Garrett, and all the staff for the outstanding work they do to support the next generation!

I’m deeply disturbed by the attempted attack at the Hindu temple in Aurora. A place of worship should be a sacred and safe place where families can gather and practice their faith without fear. This kind of hate and violence has no place in our country. I’m grateful Congressman Krishnamoorthi, his family, and everyone at the temple are safe. Many thanks to Dan and Tammy Roach and their team for hosting me at Cornerstone Retreat Center in Orion. I appreciated the chance to learn more about their mission to support first responders’ mental health and well-being. The Flanagan Library became a reality thanks to Kim Wargo’s tireless efforts and dedication. I was grateful for the opportunity to visit the library to learn more about their educational services for kids, resources for families, and to discuss how I can support the incredible work they do!

Thanks to Colonel Ballard and the @the182AW for hosting my Military Service Academy Night in Peoria yesterday to provide students considering a future of service with more information about the process! 🇺🇸

It was impressive to see the ingenuity and innovation happening at Morton Industries and their new East Peoria facility!
