The 2026 County of Riverside State of the County event will bring hundreds of stakeholders together to honor the past through America’s 250th anniversary, and highlight recent projects that will support the region’s growing community. The State of the County event will be held on December 9 at the Riverside Convention Center. Doors will open at 5 p.m., with a presentation on Riverside County’s position by Board Chair Karen Spiegel. The event also includes networking opportunities and an expo of businesses and services. “There is a rich history in the Riverside County area, dating back before our country was born,” said Board Chair Karen Spiegel, Second District Supervisor. “As we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, we honor the milestones that made our current communities possible, while also sharing the investments we’ve made that will strengthen our future.” County Supervisors will provide a historical look back within their district, as well as current special projects funded by the American Rescue Plan Act. These projects and programs support and improve the quality of life for the 2.4 million residents who call Riverside County home. “Our community today is shaped by our history,” said Board Vice Chair Yxstian Gutierrez, Fifth District Supervisor. “America’s 250th anniversary is a good time to recognize that. It’s also a good time to show residents what we’re doing to serve them.” Click this link to register for tickets: tinyurl.com/muwd3zth Early bird ticket pricing is available now until November 25 at $60 per person. The ticket price on or after November 26 will be $75 per person. Residents who wish to attend without receiving a meal will not be charged.

Today is National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day - and Riverside County is taking action. Since our award-winning Faces of Fentanyl campaign launched in 2022, Riverside County has brought together public safety, healthcare, education, and community partners to fight this epidemic on all fronts. Fentanyl deaths in Riverside County have dropped by approximately 54% - from a peak of 545 deaths to 251. But even one preventable death is one too many. The conversation has to continue. Talk to your children, your grandchildren, your neighbors. Download the free Faces of Fentanyl curriculum at rcoe.us/fentanyl and start the conversation at home. A single conversation could save a life - or the life of someone you love. Learn more about the deadly dangers of fentanyl at facesoffentanyl.net

New school year, new life-saving lesson The Faces of Fentanyl curriculum is now in classrooms across Riverside County, arming students with local facts about the fentanyl crisis before it can touch their lives. Since the Faces of Fentanyl campaign launched in 2022, fentanyl deaths in the county have dropped 54% - and this new curriculum, developed with Riverside County public health and law enforcement experts, builds on that progress a year and a half ahead of a new state mandate. As Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day approaches on August 21, parents who wish to get a head start on the life-saving Faces of Fentanyl lessons now may download all materials from the RCOE website. Curriculum is available and free to all districts, families, and community groups.
