ALT Statement by Senate Republican Leader Ryan McDougle. "The federal indictment contains serious allegations, and the justice system will continue to do its job and get to the bottom of it. While the constitutional process plays out, I will have no additional comment. “Virginia Senate Republicans continue to focus on state legislative policies that will make the lives of Virginia families more affordable. Delivering real results on keeping more money in your pocket is where our attention stays."

🚨Abigail Spanberger unveiled her energy plan today… spoiler alert: it’s TERRIBLE. Here’s the rundown:
➡️The plan acknowledges that removing Virginia from RGGI, repealing VCEA, & ending the mandates would save ratepayers $127 BILLION
➡️The plan invents a totally bogus “social cost of carbon” statistic to make it look less expensive than it really is.
➡️Up to 277,000 acres of farms and forests will be converted to big, ugly solar arrays.
➡️The plan admits that Virginia must import 30 PERCENT of its energy from other states if it is implemented, adding even more costs for ratepayers.
➡️Under this plan, the projected average residential electricity bill will be $274/month by 2039.
BOTTOM LINE: Spanberger & Democrats’ plan will result in YOUR FAMILY paying more, not less.
This is not an “affordability” plan. It’s Virginia’s very own version of the Green New Scam that will make electricity - and everything else - more expensive.
The only number in Spanberger’s energy plan that isn’t made up is the $127 BILLION you’ll pay on your power bill.

On this solemn day, Virginia Senate Republicans honor the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001.
Our nation will never forget them, nor will it forget the courage and bravery of the first responders and ordinary men and women who rushed into the flames and the smoke to help their fellow Americans.
Never Forget.

Shannon Taylor doesn't want you to know that only ONE sheriff in Virginia's First District endorsed her.
I'm honored to have FOURTEEN. The sheriffs in Virginia’s First District know my record and they know my opponent’s soft-on-crime policies — that's why they're standing with me.
I will always fight to keep VA-01 safe.

While everyone’s talking about a certain bison, I swung by to do an inspection on my good friend, the Buffalo. 🦬
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 250 years ago, this nation was born; and Virginia led the way.
The ideas that built this country were debated right here in Williamsburg. The Revolution was won just down the road at Yorktown. Henry, Madison, Mason, Jefferson, and Washington were all sons of Virginia; and the freedoms they secured and fought for still belong to every one of us today.
That is our inheritance, and it is ours to protect.
Happy Independence Day, and happy 250th, America. God bless the Commonwealth of Virginia, and God bless the United States of America.
*McDougle.
For the record, I spent way too much time this week literally running around trying to hunt down the budget and the Democrats’ so-called “Affordability Plan.” Had to get better shoes.
Happy Father’s Day to everyone!
Serving as your Senate Republican Leader is a true honor. But the greatest privilege of my life is being a father to my bright and wonderful daughter, Reagan. I couldn’t be prouder of the young woman she is becoming.
Wishing all the dads out there a day filled with love, laughter, and the moments that matter most.
These gun bills and the assaults on our Constitutional rights are bad—period. We can disagree on policy, but it is unacceptable and beneath the Office of the Governor to retaliate against Senators for going into their communities and listening to constituents.
The Governor should immediately apologize.

The Spanberger administration just refused to provide ANY details on how they plan to handle a potential shutdown.
Under questioning from @RyanMcDougle, Spanberger’s Finance Secretary had ZERO assurances that there is a plan to deal with a shutdown that is now just 14 days away.

REMINDER: On March 27, @RyanMcDougle & @delterrykilgore called for a gas tax holiday to deliver immediate relief to hard-working Virginians.
Democrats refused then. They have another chance to deliver during the upcoming special session. They ran on “affordability.” Now it’s time to deliver.

On Memorial Day, we remember the sacrifice of those who laid down their lives in service of our nation.
We also remember that this is the land of the free because of the brave, and we recommit to honoring their legacy by serving all who have worn the uniform and their families.
