In a touching story revealed by historian Michael Beschloss, when former President Jimmy Carter was at his sickest, and they feared the worst, he refused hospital care saying he wanted to pass away holding Rosalynn’s hand.
New information has surfaced that when Rosalynn died Sunday, she did so with her loving husband holding her hand.
“Number one, this was one of the great marriages in American history, even if they weren’t president and first lady,” Beschloss said.
“Not only the length of this marriage, (77 years) but the closeness of it - that partnership.”
Today we send continued love to Former President Jimmy Carter.
Have you ever seen such an enduring love story?

As @aijenpoo says, the lack of support for caregivers & their “care squads” is ridiculous. We need an infrastructure that properly supports families with things like #ChildCare & #PaidLeave. We need policies that build a new social contract -- and we need it now.
Calling all Caregivers!

.@RWJF shares our deepest condolences with the family and loved ones of pioneering New Jersey Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver.
Ms. Oliver was a true trailblazer and champion for social justice and health equity. Ms. Oliver, a proud Newark native, was the first Black woman in New Jersey’s history to serve as Assembly Speaker. Her legacy will live on in our home state of New Jersey and beyond.

“In one of the most notable moments in sports history, Kenyan runner Abel Mutai was just a few feet from the finish line, but became confused with the signage and stopped thinking he had completed the race.
A Spanish athlete, Ivan Fernandez, was right behind him, and after realizing what was happening, he started shouting at the Kenyan for him to continue running; but Mutai didn't understand his Spanish.
Fernandez eventually caught up to him and instead of passing him, he pushed him to victory.
A journalist asked Ivan, "Why did you do that?"
Ivan replied, “My dream is that someday we can have a kind of community life where we push and help each other to win.” The journalist insisted “But why did you let the Kenyan win?" Ivan replied, "I didn't let him win, he was going to win.” The journalist insisted again, “But you could have won!”Ivan looked at him & replied, “But what would be the merit of my victory? What would be the honor of that medal?
What would my Mom think of that?”
Values are transmitted from generation to generation.
What values are we teaching our children?
Let us not teach our kids the wrong ways to WIN.”

On Juneteenth, we commemorate the anniversary of the delayed but welcome news of freedom reaching the enslaved Black folks in Galveston, Texas. It’s a reminder that even in the darkest hours, there is cause to hope — and a reason to keep building a country that lives up to its highest ideals.
It's critical to prioritize #healthequity. By providing necessary funding, establishing a state #publichealth institute, and transforming data systems, we can build a sustainable & inclusive public health system that benefits everyone. Let's invest in an equitable future for all.
NJ needs a strong, modern #publichealth infrastructure to prepare for and respond to emerging threats. @RWJF’s new #policy report offers recs to develop an equitable system that protects all New Jerseyans, regardless of who they are. rwjf.ws/420Jnbd

So you are 96% likely to walk/sit by/ breathe the air of someone infected while flying. You can choose to rely only on air filtration (which helps on a running plane- NOT in TSA, boarding, etc), but this ends debate on utility of N95 use during air travel. audacy.com/wwjnewsradio/news…

One way to remember common characteristics of melanoma is to think of the ABCDEs. ABCDE stands for asymmetry, border, color, diameter and evolving. These are the characteristics of skin damage that doctors look for when diagnosing and classifying melanomas.
