“Do Palestinians have a right to defend themselves through armed struggle, if that’s what it takes? And if not, do you suggest they lay down and die and let their village get overrun and let Heidi Levine get killed and accept the fate that the settlers have in mind for them, which they will openly tell you is to wipe them off the map?”
“If those Palestinians hadn’t come and started throwing rocks, I probably would not have survived,” veteran Washington Post photojournalist Heidi Levine told Jasper Nathaniel after she was brutally beaten by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank, according to Nathaniel. Speaking to Ben Rhodes on Pod Save the World, Nathaniel recounted the details of the October 16 attack on Palestinian olive harvesters, how Palestinian villagers risked their lives to rescue Levine, and how Israeli soldiers subsequently shot a Palestinian man and blocked paramedics. “Do Palestinians have a right to defend themselves through armed struggle, if that’s what it takes?” Nathaniel asked. “And if not, do you suggest they lay down and die and let their village get overrun and let Heidi Levine get killed and accept the fate that the settlers have in mind for them, which they will openly tell you is to wipe them off the map?” 🔗 Full interview linked in reply. @infinite_jaz | @brhodes

🚨INVESTIGATION: @LeverNews for the first time exposes the secret network of shadowy groups allowing AIPAC cash to flood into elections with no disclosure of its involvement. Cash boosted candidates through groups branded to popular causes that had nothing to do with Israel.

The field is opening up so much that Democrats are spending in Mississippi and the NRCC Chair is fighting for his life in North Carolina and the head of CAP is still litigating the Michigan primary. With 12 days until the general election, this is a generational run of obsession.
Replying to @Jacket_Spangler
Literally Rogers would have nothing to campaign against her on. He's going to attack her for being too close to Israel? I don't think so. We have to lock in to defeat Rogers here but I don't think the DSCC would have to have spent a dime in Michigan if Haley was the nominee.

To be very straightforward here, we have a series of creative strategies we think *many* people can use to avoid defaulting on their loans or *fighting* the default. Millions will default — but that doesn't have to be the end. Join us to avoid financial ruin and fight back.
BREAKING: The Trump administration is reportedly preparing to pursue wages and benefits of borrowers with defaulted federal student loans, per Forbes. The Education Department is working with the Treasury Department to hire private debt collection agencies. Borrowers in default may face administrative wage garnishment of up to 15 percent of their earnings without a court order.

In unearthed video, Vivek Ramaswamy mocks Amy Acton’s childhood sexual abuse, saying she just “complains about what someone else did to her.” Repulsive.

JD Vance doubling down on the claim that Amy Acton and her brother are lying about being abused as children. If he is so sure, then why did the state strip custody? Truly despicable given JD’s own upbringing. What if his mom was still an addict and did an ad calling JD a liar for his book? Would he be ok with that? Soulless behavior.
Vance: "And now the media and the Democrats in the state of Ohio are obsessed because, guess what? Vivek Ramaswamy had the audacity to run a TV commercial which calls it out like it is and calls Amy Acton a liar."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Court records and 1978 reports confirm Amy Acton's stepfather was arrested and charged with raping her at age 12; he fled Ohio before trial and was declared a fugitive. Her brother has corroborated the events. Vivek and Vance are siding with abusers over a victim. cincinnati.com/story/news/pol… forbes.com/sites/saradorn… mediaite.com/media/news/ram…

I’ve been detained by the IDF, along with a group of rabbis & volunteers. We were simply harvesting olives in a grove near Nehalim in the West Bank. The occupation is a crime under international law. Harvesting olives isn’t a crime under any law I know.

To spell it out: The activist/journalist who filmed this video of @washingtonpost’s Heidi Levine being brutally assaulted on Friday was just violently arrested by Israeli police while documenting a military raid on an olive harvest in Taybeh—where diplomats were attacked on Saturday.
Replying to @infinite_jaz
This video captures settlers beating Heidi. They clubbed her, kicked her. Pulled her up off the ground to beat her more. Robbed her of all her equipment. If she didn’t have a helmet—and if she was Palestinian—she could be dead.

Whoops Third Way accidentally promoting support for single-payer.
Voters do not want Democrats to support the DSA's platform. In a Sept. survey, respondents were far less likely to vote for a Democrat who calls themselves a socialist, supports defunding the police, or champions prison abolition

Neera could wait until after the election to call the primary rigged but nah, she’s just gonna do that now.
Absolutely locking in that Mike Rogers needs to lose in 2 weeks, but man the pollsters that showed Haley behind over the summer were either made up or highly partisan. And a lot of smart people fell for the op.

This is one of the many ways in which the Republican Party has been anti-democracy way before Trump came along
If Democrats have a very good night in November, expect a rush of Republican laws in December to strip powers away from whichever office Dems have won. The playbook most aggressively used by NC's GOP recently, extended to Iowa, for starters, Texas.

Over a dozen masked settlers just attacked Turmus’ayya. Burned an American home and severely beat an American citizen, Chicagoan Mohammed Sakat. One town over from Abu Falah and was attacked on the same day. They’re really cracking down here.

Matt will dig up senate races from 2004 to win an argument, but on this one he's going on vibes. Here's the data: Americans who won't vote for a Muslim candidate they agree with (since 2016): -All voters: 31% to 43% -Republicans: 51% → 72%. -Democrats: 13% → 18% Curious how Matt plans to moderate "I agree with you, but you're Muslim." Maybe AES should try being 10% less Muslim and see how it polls.
There are clearly lots of people in America who don't like Muslims, but I don't think hardcore Islamophobes are voting for Democrats in general. And while I think El-Sayed will underperform, it'll just be by the basically average Squad underperformance level.

Thanks @MarkPocan and for your vision and leadership. There is also a difference between a debate with others in our party over issues (billionaire tax, medicare for all, repealing Laken Riley, no aid to Israel) and going after people personally. I'm for the former, not latter.
Maybe a little self-awareness, @neeratanden. Look through your own feed. Throughout the Wisconsin Primary up to the election you’re trashing one candidate & we asked you to please keep it down. I agree going after each other at certain times is bad. But may I suggest a mirror?

Lotta respect for you @rokhanna, but your desire to attack future rivals is not more important than the most important midterms of our lives. Totally awesome for you to offer your stump speech on Nov 4th. Eyes on the prize - I beg of you.

Carville may or may not have much sway with Dems these days, but many around here claim it is delusional to believe any Democrats harbor such notions…
James Carville says he'd rather have Republicans keep control of the House than Democrats winning the chamber by 5 seats. "I would rather the Republicans keep the House by five than the Democrats win by five, because if that happens, they’re hostage to the DSA. Like, Hakeem cannot move. There’s no place for him to go."
