Writer @NaomiAKlein says the rapid rise of artificial intelligence is part of a much longer project of privatization. "After 50 years of outsourcing and hollowing out of public functions of the state, the very last stage is the outsourcing of thinking, of intelligence itself."

The Prime Minister’s analysis is right. Bad political decisions have destroyed communities. @andyburnham come to Grangemouth, listen to the locals, see the damage that has been done to our town. Then take the political decisions that will transform things for the better.

Will never forget where I was when I picked up the newspaper that day and saw the images. It's seared into my memory.

Isn't the big question here why the incomes of working-age families have grown so miserly? A 1% per annum growth in the income of pensioners hardly sounds excessive but working-age families experiencing one third of a per cent is clearly drastically terrible.
Over the past two decades, pensioner incomes have grown by 20 per cent, while those of working-age families have grown by just 7 per cent. Given these trends, surely it is time to include the Triple Lock in debates around stemming the growth in welfare spending? ➡️ buff.ly/FY93tV6

Powerful admission by the Foreign Secretary. It's testament to the millions who have taken to the streets week after week in disgust at an ongoing genocide. If the Foreign Secretary acknowledges campaigners have been right, then surely it's time to de-proscribe Palestine Action.
Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband: 'I want to say to the millions of people in this country and indeed elsewhere, who have been moved and outraged by the plight of the Palestinian people. We hear you. You were right' trib.al/uh5mVzw 📺 Sky 501, Virgin 602

When all the children applauded, I felt something so beautiful—something I had never felt in my entire life. One of them, who was seeing me for the very first time, told me: "I love you, Uncle." I held back my tears in front of him and hugged him. Perhaps he said it because he had been deprived of happiness for so long and felt truly happy inside the Phoenix Library. I don't even know why my tears wanted to flow. All I want is for our children to truly live their childhood, just like any other child in this world. The children's cinema inside the Phoenix Library was a truly beautiful experience, and it will now become a permanent event, InShaAllah.

instead of washing our faces with water and soap and heading to work, they washed our faces with sulfur and fire—washed them until their pieces scattered as curses upon this world. Then my left hand fell onto one of the windows, and I couldn’t find it. Only my right hand remained, writing the truth and bearing witness to the injustice and darkness that has filled the world. My friend, I don’t know myself—I can’t find myself. Pieces of me I discover, and pieces I don’t. I search for myself grain by grain, but I find nothing. Where am I?

Our country has become so desensitised to this image that we have children chanting “let them drown”. This man matters exactly as much as you matter. He mattered to loved ones just as much as your family matter to you. Safe routes or barbarism. Always has been that simple.

Today I have written to the head of the UK Football Policing Unit after its disgraceful attempt to link alcohol with the Hillsborough disaster following the Prime Minister’s call to ease restrictions at football matches. Alcohol did not cause Hillsborough. The behaviour of supporters did not cause or contribute to the disaster. These are the authoritative, factual conclusions of the inquests and the independent investigations. They are not matters of opinion. Thirty-seven years on, when will policing authorities finally accept the truth and stop perpetuating the lies and smears created in the aftermath of the disaster? Enough is enough. #JFT97

Good morning. Today I have launched a new campaign to help with debts I have gotten and for day to day life with my fiancé. Please be the first supporter. " Amidst all the hardship, something beautiful has happened: I married the love of my life. Unfortunately, we have had to go deeply into debt to start our new life together, and every day continues to be a struggle for our needs. I ask you to please donate what you can and share my fundraiser. Even a few dollars can make a world of difference for us. May God reward you, Wissam chuffed.org/project/201638-h… @Fbhutto @AssalRad @karaokecomputer @GoodVibePolitik

"I didn’t need 10 shows from Ed. I needed 2. Two chances to stand in front of 90,000 people and say the words that somehow became too dangerous to say. Free Palestine. But if those words cost me the stage, while turning the conversation back to Palestine, then it was the most successful tour I’ve ever been on."
