Today marks the passing of our brother, Fire Marshal Mike Horton from job-related cancer. He is survived by his wife, Kayla; his children, Shallyn, Sydney, Matt, Amanda, Shanna, and Tori; and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Today marks the passing of our brother Captain Karl Hegle to job related cancer. He is survived by his partner Vikki and his children Allison, Rachel, Steven and Peter. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

With the potential for heavy rainfall and flooding, the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District reminds residents to take steps now to protect their homes and property. Yesterday marked the passing of our brother Christopher Charles Rutledge, who tragically lost his life in an automobile accident while on duty. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

SAN BERNARDINO: #SBCoFD is on-scene of a RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE FIRE on the 2700 blk of N. Sierra Way. #SierraIC reporting a working fire in a single-story residential structure. Fire is knocked down and primary search for potential victims is “all-clear”. Crews will remain committed for approximately 30 min to ensure complete salvage and overhaul.

Residential Structure Fire on the 18000 block of 10th Street in the community of Crestmore. No injuries to residents or firefighters were reported. Primary search for potential victims is “all-clear”. Fire is knocked down. Crews will remain on-scene to ensure complete salvage and overhaul.

BLOOMINGTON: #SBCoFD is on-scene of a RAILCAR INCIDENT in the area of the 19100 block of Slover Ave. Battalion Chief 118 has assumed #SloverIC. Single rail car well involved with no exposures. Cargo appears to be appliance parts. Can handle with units assigned.

San Bernardino County Fire is using cloud-based videogrammetry to improve situational awareness, support tactical planning, and enhance firefighter safety during emergency operations. The @SkyeBrowse platform converts drone footage into measurable three-dimensional (3D) models and high-resolution, top-down orthomosaic maps. These visual tools give firefighters and incident commanders a detailed view of scenes, structures, and surrounding hazards to support informed decision making. Applications include fire scene documentation, pre-incident planning, tactical operations, disaster response, hazardous materials incidents, interior mapping, and firefighter training. By providing detailed scene information before and during operations, the platform helps personnel evaluate hazards, understand building layouts, and develop response strategies. Remote scene assessment can also reduce the need to place firefighters in dangerous environments solely to gather information. This capability supports San Bernardino County Fire’s ongoing commitment to improving operational effectiveness and reducing risk to personnel. By incorporating aerial data and 3D mapping into emergency response, the department is strengthening its ability to prepare for and manage complex incidents.

Edgehill (Update): Forward rate of spread has been stopped with hoselines tied in. Structure threat has been mitigated.

With high winds expected to further strengthen overnight into tomorrow, San Bernardino County has staffed and pre-positioned a @Cal_OES Strike Team and an additional County Fire handcrew for augmented response to incidents. These assets will remain available through the duration of the event.

Mango (Update): Fire remains confined to landfill. Firefighters assigned to adjacent structures monitoring for ember cast and spot fires. Smoke impacting 210 freeway. Exercise caution while traveling the area.
