It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve the people of Iredell County and northern Mecklenburg in the #NCGA Senate. Whether it’s improving transportation infrastructure, bringing much-needed efficiency to DMV services, standing up for parents and students, protecting taxpayers, or fighting for common-sense solutions that make our state stronger, I’ve never forgotten where I came from and who I’m fighting for.
We’ve delivered meaningful results – and I’m running for re-election to keep working for the families and communities that make this region so special. Join our campaign at SawyerNC.com! #ncpol
NEW 🎙️ This week on We’re Just Sayin’, Senator Sawyer is joined by Congressman Tim Moore and Iredell Clerk of Superior Court Jim Mixson. #ncpol

I’m proud to have the endorsement of the North Carolina Troopers Association! The men and women of the State Highway Patrol play an important role in protecting our families and keeping North Carolina moving safely. I’m grateful for the work they do and the sacrifices they make to serve our state. Thank you to the NC Troopers Association for your support!
I’m grateful for the Charlotte Observer’s endorsement in my re-election campaign for #NCGA Senate District 37 — which includes northern Mecklenburg and Iredell counties. Representing our region in Raleigh is a responsibility I take seriously, from helping put the county’s transit referendum on the ballot to making sure our region’s voice is heard in the majority. I’d be honored to have your vote.
Early voting is underway, and Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. Join our team at SawyerNC.com!
It’s go time! 🇺🇸 Early Voting opens today and ends Saturday, October 31. Election Day is November 3, but why wait? Every vote counts, and this election will shape North Carolina for years to come. Make your plan to vote this week, and bring your photo ID.
A strong economy starts with the people who take a risk, open a business, hire their neighbors, and invest in their communities.
I’m grateful to receive the endorsement of the National Federation of Independent Business for my record of standing with North Carolina’s small businesses.
Small business owners deserve a state government that understands the challenges they face and works to keep North Carolina a place where they can succeed.
North Carolina families are feeling the squeeze every time they fill up, and today we took action to help make life more affordable.
I was proud to support the Relief at the Pump legislation in the #NCGA Senate — suspending the state motor fuel tax and providing some much-needed breathing room for drivers, families, and local businesses across North Carolina.
We’re providing relief today while continuing to be responsible stewards of the funding our roads and infrastructure depend on. I’ll keep working to make North Carolina a place where families can keep more of what they earn — and small businesses can continue to prosper.
Buying a tank of gas shouldn’t put such a strain on the family budget. North Carolinians need immediate relief from rising fuel costs.
I welcome @SenatorBerger and @NCSpeakerHall’s call for a special #NCGA session focused on relief at the pump. I’m ready to get to work on solutions that help families keep more of their hard-earned money. Additional details to follow.

It was a pleasure to spend time with members of our local agricultural community at the Iredell County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in Statesville.
Thank you to Sheriff Campbell for serving as the keynote speaker and to Richard Renegar, President of the Iredell County Farm Bureau Board, for his leadership bringing everyone together. I’m grateful to have heard from those who work every day to put food on the table for families across our state and nation.
I was honored to share some words of support and encouragement at the 9th Annual Iredell Walk for Recovery. Hearing from people who have turned their own journeys into hope for others was a powerful reminder that recovery is possible and no one has to face it alone.
Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, and local organizations who brought our community together to support healing and help people find the resources they need.

I appreciated the opportunity to join state and local leaders in Asheville for the North Carolina Alliance for Safe Transportation’s first traffic safety summit.
As co-chair of the #NCGA Senate Transportation Committee, I remain committed to strengthening our distracted-driving laws. Texting behind the wheel puts everyone at risk — and North Carolina must take meaningful action to make our roads safer.
