Come see Jodi in person at the Breuer building in New York until 25 October ahead of the live sale on 27 October. Register to bid now >> bit.ly/4e0jccW
Measuring approximately 6.5-feet-tall when mounted and 19.6-feet-long, Jodi is the first of its kind to come to market following the groundbreaking scientific confirmation last fall that Nanotyrannus is not an adolescent T. Rex., but rather a new and distinct genus of dinosaur.
The elusive predator boasts an exceptional, virtually complete skull of 53 bones, including the maxillae, fused nasals, quadratojugals, jugals, dentaries, and the braincase.
After nearly a century in private hands, this Alberto Giacometti plaster sculpture made its auction debut at #SothebysParis. It sparked a lively bidding battle and went on to achieve €8.6 million in the Modernités auction, presented in partnership with @celineofficial.
In ‘Tête crâne,’ Giacometti reinvents the image of the skull, replacing the natural curves of the face with a succession of planes and angles. This version from 1934 was acquired directly from the artist in 1935 and has remained in the same family ever since. Today’s sale in Paris marked the first time any cast of ‘Tête crâne’ appeared at auction.

Look closely and the features we now instinctively associate with the Submariner are not yet fully defined. Its design feels lighter, simpler and beautifully restrained.

As president and founder of the Black Hills Institute of Geological Research in South Dakota, Larson knows the anatomy of a Tyrannosaur inside and out and has long been involved in discussions about whether Nanotyrannus is its own distinct genus or a juvenile T. Rex.
