PwC projects combined yearly infrastructure spending in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa to rise from US$54bn in 2024 to US$96bn in 2050.

The cedi has gained some ground. GoldBod sold US$130m to support the currency. The cedi gained 1.20% against the dollar to close at GH¢11.65.

Northern Ashanti Mines says it has put over $100m into Konongo since 2019. It says the disputed $8.3m debt belongs to the mine's former operator.

Planning to buy dollars this week? The cedi has slipped a little. The Bank of Ghana's interbank rate for Monday, 26 October sold the dollar at GH¢11.6558, up from GH¢11.6108 on Friday, 23 October. That's about 4.5 pesewas more for every dollar.
