Unsurprisingly, Matisse Thybulle leads the Lakers with 3.7 deflections a night. Watch him anticipate and blow up this flare action. Team is also a +26 net rating with him on the floor so far in three games. Winning player.

Fun fact: Darius Acuff Jr. has the most shot attempts in NBA history through the first 3 games of a player’s career with 74. Game 1: 24 FGA Game 2: 26 FGA Game 3: 23 FGA He’s also the first player to attempt at least 20 shots in each of his first 3 career games.

Wild Stat Through the First Week: Despite losing the Best Career 3pt% Shooter in NBA History (Kennard) & the Best Playoff 3pt% Shooter in History (Rui)- Lakers are the 2nd Best 3pt Shooting Team in the NBA. They’re also 3rd in Total 3pters Made. They’ve still got True Ooters.

The movement for Luka Doncic is not ground breaking but the Lakers keep mixing it in. Elbow catch for Reaves, Luka off a flare, whole left side is empty. Goes right to catch and shoot.

It’s time to come to the realization that Austin Reaves is better than players like Paolo Banchero & LaMelo Ball. The efficiency and consistent growth every year isn’t talked about enough.

As expected, Ty Jerome and Walker Kessler are the Top 2 players in the NBA so far this season, per HoopsHype's Global Rating. #SmallSample

Phoenix went 8-0 in the regular season games Kevin Durant played after the 2023 trade. Denver beat them in six in the second round, and the last one was a 25-point loss at home.

Really impressive defense from Reaves here -good initial screen navigation to stay in-phase with George after the ballscreen -doesn’t bite on the stepback fake -right arm in perfect position and he generates a steal when George exposes the ball and brings it back down to waist
