What was life like before Spelunky?

I wonder how many people will read this and think Morant didn't own the gun. This is some A+ doublespeak!
NBA investigation into Ja Morant did not conclude that the gun belonged to Morant, was brought by him into the nightclub or was displayed by him beyond a brief period... "also did not find that Morant possessed the gun while traveling with the team or in any NBA facility."

I saw a preposterous 262 movies released in 2022! Here's my very rough ranking just before the Oscars begins.

I got the silly idea to bake an iconic state pie every Friday. First up: Alabama Buttermilk Pie. I give it nine thumbs up.

Week 58: Hawaii Haupia Pie. Chocolate and (very mild) coconut, so obviously delicious. What are all those states without chocolate in their pies thinking? They're missing out!

I'm in Hawaii so I had to sample a genuine slice of Haupia pie. I'm impressed by how similar my version was! Chocolate and coconut are just a perfect pairing.

I've seen tons of horror movies released this year, but outside of a few scenes none have been all that scary. Any recommendations? Here's what I've seen: A Banquet Barbarian Beast Black Phone Bodies Bodies Bodies Father of Flies Fresh Hatching Hellbender HollyBlood Master 1/2

There's a moment from The Northman when the hero catches a spear thrown at him and then throws it back. Pretty badass, right? In RRR, the hero throws A TIGER at someone. It's preposterous and over-the-top in the best ways. Even the extend bromance scene was next level!
Replying to @nsuttner
Also DO NOT MISS seeing RRR in a theater, a South Indian action epic which just completely BLEW MY GOURD. I don’t use the word epic lightly, but there’s not a better word. It’s three hours long but it feels like 10 hours, in the best possible way.

Will Smith just reenacted the rabid toxic masculinity The Last Duel spent three hours exploring.

If someone destroyed the internet, would they be considered a supervillain or a superhero?

Seems like the perfect day to announce that I too was acquired by Sony. (not a joke)

Just remembering the time I had to give a presentation in Spanish class so my buddy and I brought an N64 to class and played GoldenEye while shouting things like "aye caramba!" whenever we died.
5
My worst take: Nintendo was right to use cartridges for the N64. The major advantages of CDs (space and cost) were undercut by incredibly slow load times.

I got my Master's degree today! Best part of the ceremony is when they played The Macho Man Randy Savage's intro music. Oh yeah!

Week 73: Washington DC Apple Pie. We thought it would be a good idea to recreate a recipe from the country's founding which meant pouring 2 cups of water into the filling, Nary a drop evaporated in the oven, which lead to a decidedly soupy pie. George Washington was a weirdo!

And that wraps up this pie baking extravaganza! 50 states, 5 territories + DC, multiple pies for a few places, and a few diversion pies for holidays. Whew! I'm taking a pie break until next year, and then we'll start on a dessert world tour. First up: Afghanistan!

A few years ago, I was walking Cody and saw a huge spider on a bush. It was as big as my hand, and though it wasn't moving, I froze. I couldn't walk past it or leave it because I wouldn't be able to relax knowing someone like that lived so close. I called my wife to rescue me.
1
And it's leg moved. I flipped out. I rushed into my wife's office just as she was ending a call and waved for her to go outside. She was nonplussed. She tells me seven years ago there were tarantulas around our neighborhood but she kept it from me because I would react poorly.
1
She calmly gets Tupperware, coaxes the spider inside, and carries it away from our house. Now I'm trying to figure out how I can continue to live where there are tarantulas roaming.
