I commend Governor @GavinNewsom for taking this historic step.
California will no longer be complicit in a racially biased system that delivers neither justice nor safety.

Today is a new day. Ring the bells for freedom. Throw your hats in the air. America has awoken from our long fever dream. The drinks are on me.
The voters rose to the occasion to take back our country. They decided to stand up on their hind legs and demand CHANGE.
Across America, millions of ordinary people have stepped forward.
A Republican President once lauded America’s “thousand points of light,” ordinary people working together to make their communities and their country better. Well, last night had a lot more lightbulbs.
We are not fascists or racists. We cannot be bought. We are the land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.
Is there a long, hard road ahead? Hell, yeah. Bring it on. The American people just said, “We’re back in business.”
Let’s be that country again.
And I want to say thank you. The sun is shining. America is back.
"This is the BIG ONE!" We've heard that so many times, but today it's true. Today we lay the foundation for a new American democracy, a 21st-century country that lives up to our ideals of justice, freedom, and success. Let's go!
Inequality and corruption are at the heart of the American dilemma. No one earns a billion dollars on their own.

This election is a chance for America to turn the page and go back toward being the leading civilization we were always meant to be. Drop your ballot off at a dropbox by Election Day, November 3.

Dolores Huerta. Yes she did!
What a brave, brilliant, fun-loving leader for the ages. Someone who co-founded the United Farm Workers and never looked back. Stood up to brutal physical beatings and political attacks. Represents the best of American courage, justice, and dignity. And loved to dance.
I will always love Dolores Huerta.
The oil industry spent big to elect Trump, and they're laughing all the way to the bank.
Meanwhile, Americans are paying sky-high energy prices.
And our country is falling behind the rest of the world in developing cheap and abundant renewable energy.

My thoughts on Tom Cruise's new film, Digger…
Climate doomerism and existential risk only get us so far, even with a Hollywood budget.
We as a climate movement need to be talking about solutions and how we can make people’s lives better.
That’s what really moves people.
Great read.
Despite Trump's best efforts to kneecap renewables, the market has picked clean and cheap power.

Back on the Farm for @Stanford Climate Week.
Young people are growing up in a world where renewable energy is no longer an environmental issue, but an economic one. Solar and wind are the cheapest energy sources on the planet.
The future is cheap and clean!
The Brazilian people delivered a huge victory not just for their country, but for the environment.
The world's largest rainforest is one of our best defenses against climate change, and Brazil just prevented an autocrat from continuing to destroy it.

We have two good candidates for Congress in San Francisco, but I'm voting for @Scott_Wiener. He's been a tireless fighter for the city, first as a supervisor and then in the State Senate. He takes climate change and clean energy seriously, and he's focused on bringing down costs for Californians.
In 2014, California hit its 2020 emissions target six years early.
Today, China is racing ahead on affordable electric cars and trucks, while the Trump administration has killed EV tax credits, blocked California’s clean car rules, and subsidized fossil fuels.
Here is the result: the average new EV in America is over 5x the price of China’s best-selling EV. And the most climate-forward state in the country has fallen behind on its climate goals.
At a time when rising costs and climate matter more than ever, we need to make EVs affordable for everyone and get back on track. latimes.com/environment/stor…
