Ambassador Darryl Nirenberg

An unforgettable evening celebrating the 251st @USMC Ball with our 🇺🇸 Marine Security Guard Detachment in Bucharest, Embassy colleagues, and 🇷🇴Romanian partners. Thank you to our Marines for bringing honor, courage, and commitment to their mission of protecting our embassy and inspiring us to do the same in our work every single day. Semper Fidelis!

A very warm welcome to Romania to Under Secretary of Defense @USWPColby.  Looking forward to important conversations with Romanian partners over the next two days to advance our shared strategic defense priorities and NATO 3.0 implementation.  Romania is making the NATO alliance stronger, and we are looking forward to discussing how they can best contribute to a European-led conventional defense of Europe.  🇺🇸🇷🇴

Privilege to meet Energy Minister Dumitru Chisăliță. Energy security remains a shared priority. We discussed ways to deepen cooperation that uses U.S. technology, supports economic growth, and advances the U.S.-Romania Strategic Partnership. Romania has the potential to be the energy powerhouse of Europe, and energy powers the economy.🇺🇸🇷🇴

Great meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Marian Neacșu. Discussed strengthening law-enforcement cooperation, border security, and our shared commitment to protecting our nations’ citizens. #StrategicPartnership 🇺🇸🇷🇴

Great evening at the MoonShotX 2026 Gala celebrating entrepreneurship and cross-border innovation alongside fellow ambassadors, founders, investors, and corporate leaders. Proud to see 🇷🇴 companies leveraging 🇺🇸 innovation to expand internationally and create jobs in 🇷🇴 and 🇺🇸.

Trick-or-treating at the Embassy was a blast!🎃🍬 Our community had a fantastic time hosting these adorable little monsters and heroes. Huge thanks to our 🇺🇸Embassy families for bringing the fun and festive spirit to 🇷🇴Bucharest today. Wishing everyone a safe, candy-filled, and Happy #Halloween!

Congratulations to the @Brewers on their first @MLB World Series championship! 🏆 Here in Bucharest, our own Erik Liederbach, a proud Milwaukee native, is celebrating with all of Wisconsin.  We’re sending the American flag that flew over the U.S. Embassy on the day the Brewers won the championship, so the team knows Americans serving overseas are cheering just as hard.  Sports diplomacy at its best. 🇺🇸⚾️

As I meet with religious leaders throughout Romania, I’m continually inspired by the depth of the country’s faith traditions. Great discussion today with Dr. Sorin Bădrăgan, President of the Baptist Union, on our shared values, religious freedom, and his community’s strong ties to the Southern Baptist Convention.  🇺🇸🤝🇷🇴

Cyber threats respect no borders—neither does our resolve to stop them. Honored to address the 10th 🇺🇸🇷🇴 Cyber Security Conference at the Diplomatic Club. By sharing intelligence, safeguarding critical energy infrastructure, and building trust before a crisis strikes, we ensure our technologies serve freedom and keep both our nations secure.🛡️

Grateful for the opportunity to join my fellow Ambassadors and colleagues at the @US_EUCOM Chiefs of Mission Conference. Informative discussions on regional threats, deterrence, and partnership priorities. Diplomacy and defense working hand-in-hand to make America stronger and safer. 🤝🇺🇸

Faith is at the very core of human dignity. It shapes who we are, anchors our families, and builds our communities. On this International Religious Freedom Day, we reflect on one of our most fundamental human rights: the freedom to believe and worship freely. Together with our Romanian friends, we remain dedicated to defending and honoring this essential freedom for all. 🇺🇸🇷🇴🕊️

Reaffirmed our unwavering defense partnership in the meeting with Defense Minister @sroprea. Discussed strengthening our shared defense priorities and boosting interoperability. Romania plays a vital role in regional security, and together we stand united in maintaining peace through strength on the Eastern Flank. 🇺🇸🇷🇴

Wonderful visit to the ⛪fortified church in Ghimbav, nestled in the heart of Brașov County. Moments like this remind us of the rich spiritual heritage of Romania and our shared conviction that freedom of religion is a foundational pillar of any vibrant, enduring democracy. 🇺🇸🇷🇴
