we want to start testing a Midjourney MCP with a limited community. the intention is to find creative and technical people to push the boundaries of what our models can do. this is not for Midjourney in SaaS products, it's for purely artistic and creative endeavors. apply below!
it’s absolutely remarkable to hear jobs speak about artificial intelligence so early & so crisply in so many ways asking questions that are deeply ingrained into the zietgiest today nearly 45 years ago.
these are the same questions keeping some ppl up at night & the entire society will now have to grapple with eventually.

CNN just published a long-lost 2Pac interview given shortly after his release from the pen.
He opens up about the double disc album then called "Life Goes On," his vision for a rap league, the criticism from politicians, the hardest parts of being locked up.
Pretty incredible

"specialized intelligence" is the edge.
will be interesting to see what tools companies use to gather and build this intel, rather than rely on generalized intelligence from the big models...
"Frontier researchers are confusing the automation of their own unusually automatable profession with the automation of the entire economy."
This is actually really funny.
1.) Anthropic claims profound capability acceleration while selling models whose differences most customers can barely perceive. If Fable, Opus 4.8 and 4.7 feel effectively interchangeable, that looks less like an intelligence explosion and more like a rapidly commoditizing product.
2.) Frontier researchers are confusing the automation of their own unusually automatable profession with the automation of the entire economy. Their work consists of code, papers and measurable digital experiments, exactly where AI is strongest. Pretraining and post-training teams watching their own jobs disappear is not proof that everyone else’s will.
3.) Majority of businesses are not bottlenecked by intelligence (perhaps besides trading firms and most research jobs). Their moats are execution, distribution, customer relationships, trust, regulation, physical infrastructure and scarce assets.
4.) The erosion of frontier labs’ technical moat may explain their sudden interest in slowing the frontier. Open and cheaper models keep catching up, while regulation could create the durable barrier that model performance has not: expensive compliance, controlled compute and government approval.

Star Axis is complete. Fifty years in the making, land artist Charles Ross has finished his monumental observatory on a mesa in New Mexico. A staircase, aligned with Earth's axis, climbs to a open lens that tracks Polaris and the 26,000-year cycle of Earth's gravitational wobble.

it’s fascinating how many ppl today are playing what i call the pre ai capitalism game which includes stuff like getting the bag (aka accumulating capital), mining for status, keeping options open, & then possibly exiting the arena once one or more of these hit.
this is very rational in a scarcity world but it’s much less obviously rational in a world where labor, media, software, knowledge work, & maybe even company formation get aggressively abundant (aka the agi world). ask yourself how much value with your capital/options have in this world?
in an agi world there is a real possibility that the real value may actually lies the opposite stuff like durable trust, taste, ability to get distribution, community, institutional memory, reputation (huge), & the ability to play in the game with high quality ppl for a long time.

BREAKING🚨: A once-in-a-lifetime sky. 🌌
The Great Pyramids stand beneath an incredible six-planet alignment of Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Mars, Uranus, and Neptune. As if that wasn't enough, a stray meteoroid streaked through the frame just as the shutter clicked.
While the distant ice giants (Uranus and Neptune) required long-exposure photography to be pulled from the darkness, the final composite captures the full, chaotic beauty of our solar system.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is a fake image. The “alignment” didn’t look like this. The brightness and distances of the planets are all wrong. A meteor would disappear almost instantly in a timelapse.
Also the alignment isn’t “once in a lifetime”, it happened last year and happens semi often.
