It was our honour and privilege to host the annual Mayor’s Festival of #Remembrance in the Cathedral this evening.
A poignant occasion as we came together to remember those who have served and sacrificed.
We will remember them.

Delighted to confirm the election of the Rt Revd Toby Howarth as Bishop of Leeds following 5.30pm Evensong @York_Minster today. Bishop Toby’s passion for sharing the good news of the Gospel alongside his profound commitment to interfaith dialogue equip him to serve all those who call @leedscofe home.
🕯️ This evening we gathered in the Cathedral for our Solemn Requiem for All Souls, remembering with love & thanksgiving those we have known and loved, but see no longer.
We gave thanks for their lives & the hope that God's love is stronger than death.
May they rest in peace.
What a joy to welcome The Yorkshire Philharmonic Choir back to the Cathedral on Saturday for a beautiful and moving Remembrance concert. 🎶

Founded in 1876, The Mothers’ Union has spent 150 years supporting families and communities through faith and action.
Join us at Wakefield Cathedral on Monday 2nd November at 1.30pm for a special Eucharist, followed by tea and cake.

Volunteers make such a difference to our communities, and we were proud to play a small part in celebrating them!
