Picture a 5-year-old waking up in intensive care. A breathing tube keeps him from making a sound. He’s in pain and scared, and he wants to call for his mother. He can’t. Now an AI tool from Israel is giving children like him a way to say it. Printed picture boards have long been used in hospitals, but they were one-size-fits-all, and making a custom one by hand could take hours. Schneider Children’s Medical Center in Petah Tikva developed this tool with the volunteer group Code for Israel. A speech therapist enters the child’s age, language, background and medical condition, and within seconds the AI suggests the words and pictures that fit that child, from race cars to Disney characters to the family dog. The therapist adjusts it and prints it at the bedside in under five minutes. A deaf girl whose family didn’t know sign language kept refusing the food she was brought. With a board, she simply pointed to the one she wanted: burekas, a savory pastry. The gap disappeared. Israeli innovation, giving children hope and a voice. 🇮🇱💙

Election's over. Don't look for your elected officials in NY. Many are in San Juan for SOMOS, where lobbyists get first crack at them. Panels and parties up front, back-room deals. Visit Puerto Rico, sure. But constituents come first, not after the lobbyists.

Who's profiting off Propel NY? How much is guaranteed to private investors? I'm calling on the NYS Attorney General to investigate Propel NY's finances NOW. Open the books. New Yorkers deserve answers. #PropelNY

Early voting starts Saturday, October 24! Vote for the candidate, not the party. Choose who best represents your values and our community.

I've always believed in compromise, but I won't vote for anyone who endorsed Mamdani. Too many in our Jewish community feel unheard, and I stand with them. As Tevye put it, if I bend that far, I'll break.

Three years since our lives changed forever. Three years since Hamas terrorists brutally murdered and kidnapped our brothers and sisters. Three years, but we will never forget. Remember October 7, 2023. 🕯️

Do you ever wonder why lifelong, loyal Democrats are leaving the party? It's one betrayal after another.

Democrats call themselves a “big tent.” Why does it feel like “Jews Not Welcome” hangs at the entrance? Confront antisemitism in your own ranks. If your tent tolerates Jew-hatred, spare us the speeches about inclusion.

Yehuda Aharon Widawski, the oldest Holocaust survivor in Israel, has passed away at the age of 107. Born in 1919 in Turek, Poland, he survived the Lodz Ghetto, Auschwitz, and Nazi forced labor camps. He made aliyah in 1950 - and then, in 1978, he went back to Poland. Not to forget. To remember. For decades, he dedicated his life to locating, documenting, and restoring Jewish cemeteries and graves across Poland - identifying over 3,000 burial sites and preserving the memory of communities that were wiped from the earth. In 2012, he was chosen to light a torch at Israel's official Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony. He survived the worst humanity had to offer - and spent the rest of his life making sure the world would never forget. May his memory be a blessing. 🕯️🇮🇱

🚨 Invasive Species Alert: Propel NY A parasitic, invasive species enters a community where it does not belong, exploits its resources, overwhelms the native population, and leaves lasting damage behind. It contributes nothing, consumes everything, and spreads until stopped.

Propel NY runs past the Commonpoint Bay Terrace and Clearview Older Adult Centers. Construction toxins, blocked ambulance and paratransit access, torn-up sidewalks, constant noise. Our seniors deserve better.

On the subject of @macklemore it's important to note that slogans such as 'Free Palestine' offer the appearance of moral courage without requiring much political knowledge. @edsheeran clearly has no spine and as for @Palomafaith and her stupid virtuous squealing of delight about Mackle-bore when she is about as political as a soggy tuna sandwich. The whole thing makes me queasy. Good on @Pink for speaking out and hopefully at some point @edsheeran will address this issue.

Labor Day honors an honest day’s work. It doesn’t honor the lobbyists cashing Propel NY’s checks to sell out the Queens neighborhoods they once claimed to represent. They built nothing. They just named a price. We know who you are. #LaborDay
