That’s not just arrogance. That’s corruption hiding in plain sight. While families in Massachusetts struggle to afford groceries, housing, and heating bills, Campbell’s office rang up nearly $300,000 in travel and credit card charges last year. Paris. St. Thomas. Disney World. Chauffeured cars costing taxpayers nearly $9,000 in a single trip. Lavish hotel stays. Holiday parties and catered gatherings…all billed to you. This is the very definition of political hypocrisy. Campbell refuses to enforce the audit voters demanded an audit meant to shine light on Beacon Hill’s insider spending. Yet at the same time, she and her staff are burning through tax dollars like it’s Monopoly money. Even worse: what we know is just the tip of the iceberg. These numbers reflect only state credit card spending. Reimbursements, per diems, agency billed expenses those remain hidden. And that’s exactly how they want it. Let’s be clear: this isn’t about honoring D-Day in France or hosting a conference in Boston. This is about an Attorney General who thinks accountability is for everyone else but her. It’s about a Beacon Hill culture where politicians laugh while the public pays. Campbell pulls in a salary of $214,000 a year…the highest in state history for an AG. Her office’s payroll is more than $53 million with 162 six-figure employees. Yet she still demanded a 12% budget increase. For what? So she can lecture you about “compassion” while chauffeured through Paris on your dime? Massachusetts deserves transparency, not cover ups. Voters spoke clearly: audit the legislature, audit the insiders, audit the system. Instead, Campbell blocks, delays, and hides. This isn’t just a spending problem it’s a trust problem. If she won’t obey the will of the voters, if she won’t open the books, then she has no business lecturing anyone about justice. Real leaders don’t fear audits. Real leaders don’t live large while their constituents tighten their belts. And real leaders don’t spit in the face of the very people they swore to serve. Massachusetts deserves better.
