🧵 Schrödinger's Sheep: How to claim 300x the amount of $WOOL when unstaking your sheep in @WolfDotGame turning 20,000 $WOOL into 6,000,000 $WOOL
Technical deep dive below on how it works 👇

Ngl was pretty surprised the currency maintained its role as a medium of exchange throughout the playtest. The economy worked better than expected all without its main sink or the planned competitive currency emissions.
Most games struggle to build a real in-game economy.
The Citadels closed beta showed what it looks like when loops actually work.
The playtest ran from Sep 30th - Oct 16th & the numbers speak for themselves:
💰 15.65M ORE earned
🔥 13.02M ORE spent
⚖️ 83.2% taken back by sinks
Halfway through, the team introduced their first taste of the ingame economy: Player owned Stores.
The numbers, well they didn't dissapoint:
🔹2,187,750 ORE traded
🔹9,420 items changed hands
🔹33 pilots running their own stores
🔹1.0M ORE taken in by player stores
🔹Biggest single sale: 25,000 ORE
And this was only the BASIC stores.
This is one of the many reasons I believe in the team building @0xCitadel:
They understand the most basic economic principle: supply and demand.

Crazy to think about a ship being destroyed every 14 seconds of every minute of the beta. What did you find most surprising from the stats?

It’s simple, really. Does the economy give you ways to deliver value to others?
Players want their effort to matter. They’re looking for a niche where what they offer is worth something to someone else. And that isn’t just about selling things. It covers every interaction between players.
In Citadel, we’re building a world with jobs everywhere. That’s what we mean by “The world needs you.” Players have to rely on each other.
None of this is unique to web3, btw. But what’s always excited me about a truly web3 economy is that players can own a share of the value their economy creates. When the ecosystem grows, the people who built it grow with it. That’s the endgame.
This isn't ragebait, clickbait or a joke. I genuinely want to have a meaningful discussion.
Web3 gaming is in a really tough spot right now, and I want to keep believing in it and pushing it forward.
But man, it's been ages since I've made money while actually having fun.
"But what about Cambria Gold Rush?"
I spent 7 days creating content, playing 8 hours a day and genuinely having fun. But I didn't make any money because I didn't reach a specific milestone.
I'm not saying Cambria is bad. It's not.
But it's been a while since a Web3 game has made me genuinely invested in its economy and excited to build alongside its community. Most things I've engaged with have either gone nowhere or ended in disappointment.
A lot of people ask me if I'm going to mint X or invest in Y, and honestly, I don't want to.
Not because they're necessarily bad investments. Some are already established enough that they could still do a solid 2x or 3x.
I just want something new to believe in.
Something I can discover early, get invested in, push alongside the community and watch grow.
I don't want to keep jumping into things that are already at the top. I want to help build something that gets there.
I'll most likely be playing Cambria when it launches. It's still my favorite Web3 game and, quite literally, the most fun I've had playing any Web3 game.
This isn't a criticism of Cambria. I just wanted to share what's been on my mind lately.
I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts.
Where is Web3 gaming heading? What needs to change? Are there games or ecosystems right now that have given you a reason to believe again?
PS: I don't give a fuck if your entire argument is that "Web3 gaming is dead." Give me reasons. Give me data. Explain what went wrong and why.
I'm looking for actual discussion, not people hating for the sake of hating.

The @0xCitadel beta leaderboard timelapse.
17 days.
Hundreds of millions of merits.
An insurmountable lead shrinks to less than 0.1% margin in the midst of an absolute bloodbath during the final days...

Lmfao, that was literally the 1st artifact ship I ever built, but the 1st time I came out I ran into the most broken builds in the game 🤣🤣
@0xCitadel beta was so dope.
Had an absolute blast on @0xCitadel playtest.
Huge respect to the devs, haven't seen more dedicated and hard working team in a long while.
Couldn't imagine that a game in BETA could suck me in so hard that i lost sleep for days, spending hours theory crafting crazy strong builds, grinding, pvp, more grinding and then final day battle marathon. Absolute gem.
Thank you @HedgeEconomist, @PhyzixTeacher and the rest of the team!
Here is a quick throwback edit of my favorite kill in the playtest.

Favorite death has to be this horrible seal clubbing/public safety demo, courtesy of our very own Tarrasque, @Flobnox
I love that the killfeed has these right somehow. The kill was a third party, and this was definitely a duel lol

Going through some of my favorite moments from this last session of testing. Love the killfeed, does a great job without giving tooooo much information.

The Breach tier system and geographical friction give room for different risk-reward appetites (hardcore vs casual) to coexist in a world that remains predominantly PvP. Can’t wait to push it even further in the next beta
Well, that's it my two weeks at @0xCitadel are over
I just stopped by to check out a browser game, but ended up spending time figuring out the features, Breach, Merit, and the factions.
I'm far from being a hardcore gamer, but the game is very addictive precisely because you're constantly discovering new mechanics.
And all this time, the team has also been patching it based entirely on player feedback.
Some people, by the way, managed to grind for 16 hours a day. I didn't even try to compete with them. 😂
The Top 15 will now receive a TALON blueprint for the upcoming betas and the full launch, and players from the winning faction with a score of 50k+ will receive a permanent medallion and a Discord role.
But after taking the test, I still have the same question.
How on earth did you manage to cram all that into a browser?
I definitely won't miss the next beta.
What a play test well done to everyone on the team at @0xCitadel Outstanding job shipping many updates and patches. Stressed tested to the maxxx!
Ggs ganden almost had an insane comeback! We were done 80+ mil at one point.. and we almost brought it back in the end wp tzhal

The war for Greylock has officially ended! TZHAL HAS WON!! 🏆🔥
Managed to hold down 7th place overall for my squad! o7
After waiting 5+ YEARS, I can confidently say the @0xCitadel beta has been one of the most incredible gaming experiences I've had. So many ups and downs, so many setbacks, but every single one just made me hungrier to get better.
Honestly, I haven't been this hooked on a game since I was a kid.
Imagine Escape from Tarkov in space, but with SOOOOO much more depth. The hull talent trees, weapon modifications, ship enhancements and the endless possibilities for different builds completely change how you approach combat and play the game.
And the crazy part? THIS IS JUST THE BETA.
I genuinely believe this game WILL be huge. The foundation they've built is absolutely insane.
HUGE praise to @0xFleetCommand @HedgeEconomist @PhyzixTeacher for creating something that reminded me why I fell in love with gaming in the first place.
Can't wait to see what comes next o7 🚀

9,348 player hours in the @0xCitadel Beta. wut.

We grinded for so long, just to end up here!
The @0xCitadel wraps up in a few hours & I can honestly say I've not sunk this many hours into a game in years.
Adrenaline pumped through me during every encounter.
The thrill, the action. It was truly incredible.
As a tribute, I created this.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed playing the Beta. o7
