Rough math:
$6.x b hack,
$3b frozen,
$1.x b SAFU fund
Gap is about $2b, we have $1.x billion in SPCX alone.
Remaining gap is (still painful, but) manageable. ๐

Aave protocol will be fine.
The hacker supplied 60M USDT and borrowed 19,762 wETH (~44.9M$) in 3 minutes, before Tether froze their address and before the Aave Guardian froze the Aave V3 Core reserves (46 min later).
But USDT is real money backed by dollars, and the position is criminal but overcollateralized in the eyes of the protocol: health factor 1.04, 59.9M$ of collateral against 44.9M$ of debt.
Sure, we now have a large borrower with little incentive to repay their loan, but liquidations work as usual: if ETH goes above ~2,365$ (+4%), the position gets liquidated like any other.
The Aave V3 Core wETH reserve is 2.16M wETH, so the hacker's debt is "only" 0.9% of it as I'm writing this.
I don't think Aave needs to take specific action against the hacker.
345k wETH is available right now (81.6% utilization), so wETH liquidity is sufficient if wETH depositors want to withdraw
There's no reason or need for a bank run.
The situation is much less dire than during the Kelp hack (zero-value collateral), and we should not expect a re-run of "DeFi United".
On paper, a governance proposal could force-liquidate the hacker by upgrading the Pool to target this single position (lowering the USDT liquidation threshold would hit every USDT supplier),
but I see no real upside in doing that as normal liquidation can eat this up without sweat.
The reserves are frozen now, but no need to panic; you can repay and withdraw. This isn't the first time this has happened, and it won't be the last, and Aave is still there.
Just another day in crypto.

We just reduced Transmuter term lengths.
Our current fixed-rate yields on mainnet:
โฆ USDC: 12.15% APR
โฆ ETH: 6.16% APR
Lock in fixed yield: alchemix.fi/fixed-yield
The haze in Sing is due to Malaysia burning forests for palm oil I hear..
Quite a depressing visualisation of deforestation

heyo, come listen to the space. going to talk about
1-where we're at
2-why we deployed Alchemix on Base
3-how the Base instance is different
4-use cases

Imagine if the entire world went onchain via zkp's for KYC...
What a better world, safer handling of user data, privacy and best of all bullish for Ethereum.
Win-win-win-win.

Alchemix v3 is live on @base!
made a little explainer why it is fucking based. sound on

Self-Repaying Loans are now Based.
Alchemix is now live on @base. It's our fastest deployment yet, and the only chain where v3 runs unrestricted, with four-week Transmuter terms and no caps.
Here's what Based Alchemix looks like...
TLDR:
- High alAsset prices (very capital efficient, interest free debt)
- Zero IL for LPs of USDC<>alUSDb
- High fixed yield
- High looped yield
All completely isolated from our other deployments - activity on other chains doesn't affect alUSDb price.

This is exactly what @AlchemixFi V3 was built for.
I'm sure excited for this. ๐ฅ
I alluded to big things happening this week, and it is time to tell you what.
@AlchemixFi is launching on @base later this week.
I'm particularly excited about this deployment, which I have detailed why in the article posted in the 2nd tweet of this ๐งต
