🎮 Been playing around with Three.js and built a full browser game using the Dust2 map from Counter-Strike… featuring Shadow the Hedgehog ⭐️ The possibilities with this tech are honestly insane.
🤯 Just build Fortnite in React ... With the new releases of r3/timeline and r3/viverse, building a character controller with @threejs is now easier then ever. Checkout the link below for a full tutorial on to build the demo in the video.

Fixed ✅ The CS2 update of Oct 28 fixed voice chat breaking after a Workshop map change. Tested on our servers: voice now survives map changes, no game restart needed. Thanks Valve!
CS2 voice chat dies after a Workshop map unloads 🎙️ Voice OK on aim_botz. After map de_dust2: mic on, no sound until a game restart. Since the Oct 22 update it hits our servers. Failed loading resource "sounds/servervoice.vsnd_c" @CounterStrike please fix 🙏 @gabefollower @MaximsTweets

Announcing Zypherpunk! We are calling up builders, researchers, and creators to come and shape the future of Zcash. Our aim is to create an entry point for new talent in Zcash, where they can learn, contribute, meet like-minded people, and also get rewarded for their efforts. Dozens of developers are already contributing via Zypherpunk with projects like thus-spoke-zakura, and more are being created as we speak. We will be focused on the following: - building more projects like thus-spoke-zakura collaboratively with developers - creating content and media that accelerates developer-focused education for Zcash - events and meetups that bring more high-quality technical talent to Zcash - hackathons to identify the next big projects for Zcash and help them find the right partners for mentoring, funding, etc. The encrypted money for humanity needs the brightest minds of our generation building for it. If this sounds interesting to you, please fill out the form to join our Discord below 👇

I think Justin Drake's latest alarmism/vagueposting is going to do a ton of damage in multiple ways. It's basically a huge self-own for their own advocacy work on quantum stuff. Threats from quantum/AI are real, and teams throughout this industry are making considered decisions about how to respond to those risks in a practical way, and to help their users navigate the uncertainty. Some of those teams have really good cryptographers with an excellent grasp on the decisions they can make, others have to take their cues from trusted experts. There are so many dimensions to optimize along! And due to the complexity involved, it's almost impossible to explain this stuff to non-cryptographers. Experts have to be cognizant of all this, and of their responsibility to be levelheaded. After the fog clears up and people learn from their cryptographer friends what is actually going on, they're going to discover this was (at best) an unintentional marketing stunt and a lot of trust will be lost. And nobody will really know what to do... This is a shame, because they are directionally correct. It actually meant something when they sounded the alarm before. They've just gradually descended into unhinged predictions without feedback to discourage it. Can anyone, I mean seriously anyone, justify this debacle? It permanently colors all the legitimate concerns/predictions about classical crypto going forward. By their own admission, there was no new information that drove this. I think Justin Drake should explain how he thought this was the right approach, even if he genuinely believed what he was saying. Baffling.

Here's our plan for quantum-safe, unlinkable, rotating taddrs. Possible with Zcash, today. While others are worrying about the viability of rotating transparent addresses, we're already solving linkability. zakura.com/engineering/trans…

People read one emotional Matt Green tweet about public key encryption, spent 0 seconds thinking about it, and decide to panic. Sure ECDLP will be broken with QC's one day. But there's so many levels to this being wrong to panic over. - 0 actual progress on attacking anything - We have tons of alternate plans available. - Quadratic advantage hash-based PKE - Lattices - Multivariate polynomials - A whole field of KEM's from fine grained cryptanalysis. (Fun fact, works even if P=NP) Sure you can wake-up and choose doomer and be wrong. We have decades of cryptography to draw from on for all the above options, AND how to build a lot of what we want from UX tweaks without PKE. PKE just made a lot much easier, and less web of trust routing like.

Introducing HashSmash HashSmash is a project to accelerate cryptographic research with AI, and to figure out how to keep the internet secure as attackers get stronger. It focuses on cryptographic hash functions, because devices, networks, software, and blockchains all depend on them. Even with how critical they are, we still don't know which of today’s hash functions will hold up against future attackers, or how to make them stronger. HashSmash is a contest where humans and AI agents work on that problem together. Four hash functions are in play, and the goal is to show which are weak and which still hold: SHA-256 SHA3-256 Poseidon BLAKE3 It's a co-op, PvE effort. Participants are pooling work toward a shared result for the betterment of all. If you want to learn more, visit hashsma.sh.
Announcing hashsma.sh! 𝟘 𝟙 ❒ 🔨 Strengthen cryptography with AI. Cryptography—both current and post-quantum cryptography—depends on hashes. SHA-256? SHA-3? BLAKE3? Nobody knows if they are secure. We're going to find out! Come help accelerate scientific research! HashSmash is an open science-acceleration project in collaboration with @yukonresearch, @eigenlabs, @projecteleven, and @ShieldedLabs.
