Tuom Holmberg, founder of @Collector_Crypt, on building for collectors at scale on Solana
“Our biggest week, we sold 214,000 digital repacks in one week. Solana was kind of like, ‘Wow, that’s a really cool idea. I used to collect cards. I really want to see this work.’”
“It’s really cool that where we wound up has a very high overlap and passion for collectibles.”

Ledger is investigating reports of loss of funds from users in South East Asia who purchased products from a reseller named CryptoBillis. As a precaution, and pending the results of our investigation, we have asked CryptoBilis to pause all sales and shipments of Ledger devices. We recommend Ledger users who purchased from this reseller in the last 90 days to not initiate set up if you have not done so yet. If you have set up your Ledger device, consider moving assets to a new Ledger signer (with new seed). We will continue to inform customers of updates as the investigation progresses.

This might be one of the smartest crypto scams I’ve seen in a while
Someone basically created a fake blockchain and got real users to bridge money into it
Here’s what happened:
- GIWA is a legitimate Ethereum L2 connected to Upbit
There was only one problem, GIWA mainnet had NOT launched yet
Scammers knew people were waiting for it and built an entire fake environment around that expectation
They created a fake EVM chain, gave it GIWA’s legitimate Chain ID: 9134
set up an RPC and apparently created a fraudulent bridge that allowed users to send real assets into the fake network
So you could add a new network to your wallet, the RPC responds correctly, your wallet shows 9134, transactions work and everything looks real
Except Chain IDs aren’t proof of authenticity
The scammers basically copied GIWA’s license plate and built another car behind it
And real assets leave Ethereum or whatever legitimate source chain they’re using
and enter infrastructure controlled by whoever built the fraudulent bridge
$2M were lost through this scam apparently
Doing this on TradFi would take 3 weeks, 10 phone calls, 12 verification steps, 5 bank visits, 6 bodyguards to get the cash and card safely traded between the buyer and seller.
1 second is all it takes with @Collector_Crypt for this seamless trade.
