Good morning, friends! Please enjoy the first new Parts & Labor music in 15 years.
New sound, new album, new double-drummer lineup 🥁🥁
Please enjoy our new 20-minute single. Try to listen to it like you would an entirely new band. No nostalgia.

Jay-Z has an incredible live band with electric guitars and his drummer, Tony Royster Jr., is one of the sickest around. Very good chance he’s going to play the hit song with the AC/DC riffs.
What meaningfully separates him from a rock show?
Anything but rock is the mandate . But @NFL games will play Ozzy, @Metallica , @gunsnroses and more non stop in the stadiums, but anything rock forbidden at the halftime show. God forbid electric guitars!!!
I really like this list of unc rap

Fun Fact: Little X probably swagger-jacked the visual from Lenny Kravitz's "Are You Gonna Go My Way" video, but director Mark Romanek originally swagger-jacked it from Fellini's 'Satyricon' (1969).
“Ever since D-Nice To Tha Rescue, Fila Fresh Crew/I been a lab rat from a test tube.”
Everyone dunking on this song owns those records, right? Post your copies or let my man continue to make weird word-nerd music for ancient heads.
OK, @ZacharyLipez really got my number with this nonsense. Absolutely no frame of reference for pretty much anything in here besides my own name. I don't know whether to thank him or give this dork a swirlie.
I think @cyanidetooth calling Turnstile “Disney-fied youth crew” was *exactly like Christgau calling Fantano’s taste “dark prog.” The figurative language spoke immense truths but the RYM taxonomy wasn’t exact so people with no sense of nonliteral thinking totally short circuited
The Beastie Boys played "Heart Attack Man" on SNL in 1994, stop saying this
Turnstile brought hardcore back to SNL, 45 years after FEAR made punk rock history.
John Belushi, a fan of the LA band, pushed to get them booked for SNL’s 1981 Halloween episode, and FEAR bussed in a group of punks from Washington, DC, to join the action, slam-dancing, moshing, and rushing the stage during the set. Eventually, a fight broke out between the DC punks and the NYC crowd.
Afterwards, newspapers reported that the band caused hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage and that FEAR was banned from the show (not true, although they did pay a small fine), and police allegedly chased punks through Rockefeller Center after the show, leaving hardcore to disappear from SNL for 45 years.
This weekend, Turnstile changed that.
Drummer Daniel Fang set the tone early, opening “BIRDS” with a vicious drum solo before tearing through the rest of the song with the rest of band. For their second appearance of the night, the Baltimore band kept the energy high with a medley of “I CARE” and “DULL.”
In 1981, FEAR brought punk rock onto national television, something the mainstream may not have been ready for. 45 years later, after Grammy wins and festival main stages, Turnstile showcased hardcore as one of the biggest growing bands in the country.
I interrupt this beautiful hailstorm of late Gen X-er nostalgia to beg @consequence to put some respect on Sen Dog’s name
Years ago, @maura & I were talking about doing a weekly chat/interview podcast where we view news/culture through the lens of the Number One Song in the Country, and I'm glad we ultimately didn't because we would have gone absolutely batshit crazy by Week 23 of "Choosin' Texas"
“Choosin’ Texas” is now the longest-running No. 1 single in U.S. chart history

I just finished this massive 1,200-page tome and here is my official review: If you love Anticon, you will be thrilled, inspired, entertained, educated, provoked and unable to put this down. If you don't love Anticon, this will be straight up like getting waterboarded.
