🎸 THE TRAGICALLY HIP — DAY FOR NIGHT (1994)
This week in chart history, 32 years ago, The Tragically Hip were sitting on top of Canada’s national albums chart! 🇨🇦
On the RPM National Albums chart dated October 24, 1994, Day for Night held the No. 1 position for the fourth consecutive week, marking another remarkable achievement for the Kingston, Ontario rockers.
Released on September 24, 1994, the band’s fourth studio album took their music in a darker, more atmospheric direction, blending haunting melodies, powerful guitar work and Gord Downie’s extraordinary lyrical storytelling.
Featuring classics such as “Grace, Too,” “Nautical Disaster,” “So Hard Done By,” “Thugs” and “Scared,” Day for Night showcased a band at the height of its creative powers.
The album became The Tragically Hip’s first to reach No. 1 on Canada’s national albums chart, further cementing their place among the country’s most important rock acts.
More than three decades later, Day for Night remains a landmark Canadian rock album, its moody atmosphere and unforgettable songs continuing to captivate listeners.

In two months the going price for a RTX 5080 went from around $1200 to $2200 (if not more with certain parts). This is far, far worse than the mining crazes back over the past decade that enthusiasts have weathered. What even is normal anymore?
