IF YOU DO NOTHING ELSE IN YOUR LIFE DO THIS!!! ---GOOD NEWS FROM BEIJING 🥹🐾❤️ A proposed regulation containing stronger consequences for the abuse and abandonment of dogs has already moved into Beijing’s legislative process. This is not yet the end of the road. It is not yet a nationwide animal protection law. But it is a real and important step forward. THE PROPOSAL IS ON THE TABLE. NOW LET’S HELP TURN IT INTO LAW. 🐾 During the public consultation process, concerns regarding stricter measures against the abandonment and abuse of dogs were taken into consideration as the draft was developed further. Now we want to help push this positive change all the way forward. We are not writing to attack. We are writing to encourage Beijing to adopt these protections and bring them into force. We want the authorities in Beijing to know that people outside China are also watching these developments, appreciating this progress, and sincerely hoping that these protections will ultimately become real and enforceable. And yes - for all of us, Wang Wang is part of the reason we are doing this. 🥺🐾 Her story touched people around the world and showed just how urgently stronger protections against extreme cruelty are needed. We cannot change what happened to Wang Wang. But we can try to make sure her story helps protect other dogs in the future. That is why we have prepared a short, respectful letter to Beijing. Our message is simple: Please CONTINUE THIS IMPORTANT PROGRESS , adopt these protections, and bring them into force. If you would like to help: 1. Print the letter. 2. Add your name and country. 3. Place it in an envelope. 4. Send it to Beijing. Sometimes major change begins with thousands of small voices. 🥹🙏🏼🐾 For Wang Wang. For the dogs who are still here. For the ones we can still protect. #WangWang #ProtectDogs #StopAnimalCruelty #AnimalProtection #Beijing #AnimalLaw #VoiceForAnimals LETTER - ENGLISH Subject: International Support for the Beijing Dog Management Regulation Dear Sir or Madam, We are writing from different countries with respect and sincere hope regarding the ongoing development of Beijing’s dog management legislation. We were greatly encouraged to learn that public concerns regarding the abandonment and abuse of dogs have been taken into consideration during the legislative process. The proposed provisions introducing more serious consequences for the abuse and abandonment of dogs represent an important step toward greater responsibility, compassion and protection of companion animals. We respectfully encourage the Beijing authorities to continue this important work, formally adopt these protections, and bring them into force. Such a decision would send a positive and meaningful message - not only to people in Beijing and across China, but also to the many people around the world who are following these developments with hope. The story of Wang Wang deeply touched people in many countries and reminded us how urgently stronger protections against extreme cruelty are needed. We cannot change what happened to her, but we sincerely hope that her story can help inspire greater protection for other dogs in the future. Progress begins with one step. Beijing now has an opportunity to demonstrate that cruelty toward companion animals should not be accepted and that responsible and compassionate treatment of animals matters. We sincerely hope that the proposed protections against the abuse and abandonment of dogs will be preserved, strengthened, formally adopted and brought into force. Thank you for considering the voices of citizens and animal advocates. With respect and hope, Name: Country: Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau Public Security Administration Corps No. 1 Jia, Xinkang Street Xicheng District Beijing China #WangWang #ProtectDogs #StopAnimalCruelty #AnimalProtection #Beijing #AnimalLaw #VoiceForAnimals

This afternoon from his hospital bed, Pope Leo XIV spoke by telephone with Vladimir Putin, pleading for peace and calling for an immediate ceasefire. The Vatican released the following press release: "During the conversation, the Holy Father expressed his deep concern about the grave humanitarian situation in the city of Oleshky, in the Kherson region, and called for a ceasefire to allow the delivery of food and medical assistance, and the voluntary and safe evacuation of the civilian population. Finally, the Holy Father reaffirmed the Holy See’s commitment to promoting dialogue and peace."
