For those freaking out about the prospects the Red Sox traded today, please keep in mind that they are on the verge of trading the No. 4 pick from the draft five years ago in Marcelo Mayer because he hasn't panned out.

I know prospects are just prospects until they can prove to be big leaguers. But, when I watch Franklin Arias… the body type, the natural movements, defensive instincts, the confidence he plays with… and my goodness, the bat path with increasing power. He’s real. Keep him.

Watertown is the last Wilson County baseball team standing after the completion of the public school district tournaments and the elimination rounds of the private school region tournament.
Green Hill and Friendship Christian were both eliminated this afternoon with losses.

6’1” 2029 Connor Parkerson (@StarsNash_MBB North 15s) is a really useful piece to their lineup.
Touch from the outside, active defensively, capable of attacking off the bounce, and just a naturally aggressive kid.

Kudos to @PTPBaseball for a 9-3 win over @LebanonHSBsbl Wednesday at Brent Foster Field. WHS coach Mark Purvis was understandably w/ his family following the passing of his dad Robert Purvis earlier in the week. Mr. P loved his family unconditionally. He will be sorely missed.

Major shoutout to Watertown’s administration/coaches for a first class operation running the Region 4-3A tournament.
It’s a no from me, especially in 40 degree weather
Your team still use a field tarp? Learn how to use the “tarp funneling!” technique … When you don’t want to dump all the water already on the tarp into the outfield grass because it is already saturated.
We had a drain over by the dugout and we learned how to get 100% of the water on the tarp into that drain. It was a lifesaver for getting in games … because our OF did not drain good at all.
