A minute glimpse of family history.
Thanks to our #1947StoryScholar Amrita for recording the story of Mrs. Indira DasGupta. Mrs. DasGupta's sister, Pratima Sen, was the French interpreter for Indira Gandhi at this party of visiting French delegates in New Delhi. #oralhistory

There is a brilliant website called @1947Partition Archive that documents the stories of those who lived through the partition. My mum was interviewed by them, they record the account and you get a copy of it. It’s important the stories get told. If you have any relatives who have stories to tell, it’s worth getting in touch with them

We are so grateful for the kind words from one of our valued customers @1947partition 'The most holistic courier experience! Cordova Courier has been a savior for our airport cargo pick-up needs! Our cargo shipment was delayed at the last minute and then arrived with only a last-minute announcement. Our arrival date was not certain until the last minute. Throughout the uncertainty of the entire process, Vincent at Cordova Courier was super kind, patient, and showed up at SFO each time, at the time planned! He had to go there twice but was patient and kind about that—not at all upset about the uncertainty. He also helped us with finding a customs broker, and with negotiating storage fees with Swissport! He went above and beyond what we would have normally expected—in many more ways than I can say here. Finally, when he learned that we were a non-profit, he donated his services!! Vincent is an angel, and it’s an absolute honor to have worked with him on retrieving this precious cargo we were receiving, and overall, some amazing luck that we met Cordova Cargo 📷. I highly recommend them for your goods transportation needs!' At Cordova Courier, we are truly honored to be able to help organizations like yours. Every delivery is an opportunity to make a positive impact, and we are so thankful for customers like you who trust us with their most important needs. Thank you for letting us be a part of your journey The 1947 Partition Archive- Dr. Guneeta Singh Bhalla and Team 📷 The Cordova Courier Team 📷 (209) 880-9624 📷 [email protected] 📷 cordovacourier.com

"My family’s karkhana (timber factory) was burned to ashes by a mob. With only a day’s notice, they were asked to leave Amritsar. They packed up and left their life savings, the factory, the houses, the land, and all their cattle behind," Fauzia Parviz says.
