One of the missiles launched from Iran this morning was composed of several smaller missiles, which scattered across multiple locations in the Gush Dan area upon explosion — this has been confirmed to Galei Tzahal by two security sources familiar with the details.
The IDF is examining whether this was a cluster bomb, meaning a warhead that splits into submunitions. Bomb disposal teams have been dispatched to the various impact sites where the munitions scattered in Gush Dan, including in Or Yehuda, Jaffa, Savyon, and other areas. The Home Front Command and the Air Force are investigating the incident.
The footage shows one of the smaller “missiles” that scattered in Gush Dan this morning. It would also explain why the iron dome was deployed.

The overnight operation to recover the bodies of slain hostages Gadi Haggai and Judih Weinstein was enabled by intelligence obtained during a Shin Bet interrogation of a Palestinian terror operative who was detained in Gaza, an Israeli defense official tells The Times of Israel.
