Unpopular opinion: Team UI killed the essence of Rust. Imagine having team UI in a game like tarkov, it would literally kill the game. I miss joining a roaming team among us style because comms were key but people would roam with the same attire so you could loot a dead clan member and sneak between their ranks. I miss clans having to recycle at monuments, not on safe zones. I miss recognizing my team mates because of their player models and therefore feeling more emotionally attached to them rather than not shooting because of green name. I miss when scrap couldnt buy you guns, resources and every item if tech treed. When the main thing about survival is that money isnt a factor like in the real world but surviving skills are, and now scrap is a currency. Back then we traded items between players, it was risky and exhilirating but player interaction was everywhere. Team UI killed player interaction and made Rust a kill on sight game. People advocating for gunplay change its because that was the last defense against numbers with bad comms=skill. Groups hide behind their undrainable aimbotting bolty turrets and fly from safe zone to rig using the BEST gun in the game that now happens to be the easiest to control and with the least aimcone. Road farming became irrelevant and there are so many monuments that every group on the server can run each and tech tree the whole game without even crossing other players. I love rust man Thats why I want it to be its best version and I dont think this going anywhere healthy
