Covid was a shit time all round. People lost family members. People lost their jobs. The effects of the pandemic are still being felt. Whatever Granit felt about having the jab, it's his decision. Celebrating it is just a bit pathetic though

Giving this another plug. The Athletic have shown how Sunderland can - and should - be covered by the national media. Proper in-depth stuff. What else would you expect from a WMS alumnus? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Wasnโ€™t emotionally prepared for this on Wednesday. Best rendition of WMS in the ground. Someone must have been chopping onions next to me by the end of it. I wish there was a way to know youโ€™re in โ€œthe good old daysโ€ before youโ€™ve left themโ€ฆ

Le Bris will become the first Sunderland manager since Roy Keane in 2008 to reach 100 games. Only he, Keane and Mick McCarthy have managed that since the Peter Reid era. Congrats, Regis ๐Ÿ‘
๐Ÿ”ดโšช๏ธ Sundayโ€™s game against Manchester City will be Regis Le Brisโ€™ 100th in charge of Sunderland. ๐Ÿ‘ Genuinely one of the best head coaches Iโ€™ve seen at Sunderland in my lifetime. A tremendous tactician, brilliant with the players and just one of the most lovely people you could meet too. ๐Ÿ™Œ Some milestone - and some time in charge of the club seeing them promoted to the Premier League, finish 7th and qualify for Europe for the first time in 53 years. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Regis: โ€œIt feels like a sprint! Suicide is the biggest killer of people under the age of 35. Football seems to have an obsession around this stat about men but in doing so it marginalises football-loving women. They need to know that help is available for them too.
There is help available for those who need it most. Alongside @samaritans, we are supporting fans by raising awareness of the support on offer. โžก๏ธ preml.ge/gjkqq6vc

Theyโ€™ve tried to do this before and will doubtlessly point to the measures they took during Covid as some kind of success but itโ€™s pathetic. Football commentary should be the crown jewels of BBC Local Radio. The sports teams are without fail superb operators, experts
BBC bosses say โ€˜no decisionsโ€™ have yet been made amid reports supporters may be forced to listen to opposition commentary when their team plays away from home. Newcastle United and Sunderland supporters may be forced to listen to opposition commentary when their team plays away from home - according to BBC cost-cutting proposals. The plans, reported by the Norwich Evening News, could see BBC local radio stations stop sending their own commentary teams to away matches. Instead, supporters could hear coverage provided by the BBC station in the area where the match is being played. If applied to BBC Newcastle, the changes could mean Newcastle United and Sunderland fans no longer hearing familiar voices such as Matthew Raisbeck, John Anderson, Nick Barnes and Gary Bennett when their team is on the road. The proposals are being discussed as the BBC looks to make ยฃ500m in savings over the next two years. sunderlandecho.com/sport/fooโ€ฆ

in their field. With respect, BBC Manchester is not going to have that level of knowledge of Sunderland, nor should they be expected to. Itโ€™s needless meddling from a BBC desperate to cut costs while spaffing money on other stuff that it doesnโ€™t need to.
