In case you have yet to hear, the @OmahaPolice @DCSheriffNE and @NEStatePatrol take reckless and willful reckless driving seriously.
Your vehicle being impounded is just one of the many consequences for endangering yourself and the innocent motoring public.

The DCSO partnered with Omaha Police on Saturday night to combat reckless driving and street racing.
Just before midnight, a deputy spotted two vehicles racing each other eastbound from 30th & L Street. 21-year-old Carlos Ajxup Calel, driving an Infiniti G37, and 20-year-old Azael Rosas, driving a Cadillac CTS, were arrested for willful reckless driving and exhibition of speed.
Street racing is a quality-of-life issue. Families trying to sleep, people walking on sidewalks, and drivers simply trying to get home safely all deserve roads that aren't turned into racetracks.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Anyone with additional information may contact the DCSO tip line at 402-444-6000 or [email protected].

Dirt bikes are not street legal vehicles, even if they are electric.
Parents, please talk to your kids about safely riding them as well as where and when they can be ridden. The CAT team will continue to impound these vehicles and cite parents, when appropriate, for allowing their children to ride them recklessly on public roads.

🏍 What is street legal?
Electric Bikes and Off-Road Motorcycles 🚲
Many people may think their ride is legal when it is actually not. Here’s an easy way to tell:
✅ A LEGAL electric bicycle has fully operative pedals and cuts off power at a maximum of 28 miles per hour.
Many times, what people call an electric bicycle is actually an electric motorcycle or dirt bike. Those are not street or sidewalk legal anywhere. Riding of an electric motorcycle, dirt bike, or other off-road vehicle is best done on private property with the owner’s permission.
When ridden on roads or sidewalks, these types of non-street legal rides are subject to being impounded and parents of juvenile riders are subject to citations.
Thank you for helping keep our roads safe!

Ofc. Soldo was working a PNL grant and made these two stops on Dodge in a 55 MPH section over the weekend. Please slow down, increased speeds cause massive increases in stopping distances and are becoming far too common.

SLOW DOWN / MOVE OVER. Saturday night, an OPD patrol officer was blocking a lane of traffic on I-80 for a hazard when the cruiser was struck by a SUV going highway speeds. Both the officer and SUV were injured. PLEASE slow down/move over near emergency vehicles.
