De l'Orientalisme à l'homoérotisme.
L'orientalisme, fasciné par un imaginaire fantasmé et sensuel, a trouvé dans les arts visuels un terrain d'expression privilégié pour l'homoérotisme masculin.
Dès le XIXe siècle, peintres et photographes ont façonné une esthétique où le corps des hommes d'Afrique du Nord et du Moyen-Orient — baigné de lumière, alangui dans des hammams ou drapé à l'antique — échappait aux carcans moraux de l'Europe victorienne.
Alors que la censure rigide régnait en Occident, le voyage vers "l'Orient" offrait à ces artistes une liberté de représentation inédite.
Si les peintures académiques ou romantiques théâtralisaient une virilité exotique sous prétexte d'ethnographie, la photographie a rapidement industrialisé ce désir.
Des ateliers du #Caire, de #Tunis ou d'#Alger ont ainsi produit des cartes postales et des clichés d'hommes nus ou semi-vêtus, destinés à une clientèle occidentale en quête d'érotisme. Ces images ambivalentes oscillent constamment entre la domination coloniale du regard et la subversion intime des normes de genre, révélant comment l'Orient imaginaire servait de miroir secret aux passions refoulées de l'#Europe.

Lambs, (Agnus Dei) are considered the ultimate representation of purity in the Christian faith. Love itself is a reflection of purity. However, in the material world, sheep are carnal animals who mate out of natural instinct. How does one reconcile this imagery?
In Christian theology, animals are incapable of sin, their instinctual drives are God-ordained and innocent. If same-sex acts between animals happen naturally, one must ask: If God made the natural world innocent in its instincts, at what point did this love become a corruption?
