People are transvestigating the woman Ethan Klein had an affair with for no reason other than the fact that she isn't a 10/10 supermodel but once again tell me how transphobia doesn't affect cis women ever please
Is Tamara a jewish transgender woman? Did Ethan trade his family for trans woman?

If you are a minority in the US (or anyone really) buy an ACTUAL firearm. Do not put yourself on a lesser level in a situation that could be life or death.
I think it's important for queer people to protect themselves in the safest way they are able. As a leftist, I'm a strong advocate for gun ownership and safety training. Yeah, you read that right. If you go far enough left, you get your gonna back. While we do have firearms in the house, they stay locked up in my closet. This is Bernie the gas powered Blicky. A Byrna. My home defense weapon of choice, and the safest way for a home full of depressed neurodivergent folks and kids to feel safe in an uncertain world. If the blue laser and 1000 lumen light in the face doesn't deter someone, and the first round of pepper spray/teargas combo doesn't stop someone, the four steel balls that follow certainly will. If that doesn't stop someone, then we've got backups that go bang, and they certainly will. It won't unalive anyone, but if somebody takes a couple hits they're going to wish it had for long enough to get away.

If you're a single-issue gas price voter, you should probably spend like 5 minutes looking up how oil prices work. You'd learn that the US president has very little impact on them unless they do something crazy like shut down a pathway for a quarter of the world's oil.

Stop understating this. A trans Hyde Amendment is less like denouncing gay marriage in 2006 and more like denouncing antiretroviral therapy for HIV patients in 2006.
If this was 2006 Josh Turek would be taking about defending traditional marriage. If this was 1956 Josh Turek would be talking about keeping white and black kids to their own spaces. He would be just as spineless in any era, it’s how he is. Nobody’s free until everybody’s free

Believing that Cash for Clunkers are the primary cause of today’s sky-high used car prices requires you to think that removing 700,000 cars with an average age of 14 years from the market in 2009 had a larger impact than removing 2,000,000 cars with an average age of 0 years in 2020-2021, among other things.

The general public should be made to play XCOM until they understand.
This is like the "if you hadn't had breakfast this morning" test. Remember when Nate Silver predicted Hillary Clinton beating Trump in the 2016 election at 71% confidence--then everyone rubbished him, because Trump won? Then, of course, someone looked at all his ~70% predictions and found that they were right about 70% of the time, i.e. 70% the predictions were rather well calibrated.

Quick weekend reading for my Texas gun folks. Some folks choose to carry everywhere and that's a choice. Others may be more rule followers. For those, here's a quick reference. Know which ones apply to you - there is a felony or two hiding in these signs for armed civilians.

I will actually be voting for a Republican on the ballot this year. Because the woman who won the Democratic primary for a judgeship in my district is this person and the Republican is a defense attorney.

Free legal advice (that should probably be obvious): You know those really nifty meeting notes AI does for you on zoom calls? Pretty cool right! Very useful to have detailed and accurate notes of your meetings. Ya. Stop doing that unless you are absolutely certain it will never end up relevant to litigation. Those notes are the opposing lawyer's dream in discovery, as before such meetings had no retrievable record. It'd be the first thing I'd ask for in discovery these days. And there are methods to find out if you deleted them, btw.

A lot of people don't know that UPS drivers are Teamsters. They have a very strong union. They don't have to cross a picket line to deliver. They expect the best, pay for the best, and they get it. (Except when they do shady things)
You ever interact with a UPS man and an amazon delivery contractor back to back and you can very clearly see the kind of customer service 6 figures and a union buys you.

I’m in class and the teacher is complaining about how most of us only do our assignments to pass the year rather than to actually learn

Going over my ballot and I am again reminded that California's initiative and referendum system is garbage and should be thrown out entirely. Expecting voters to make informed decisions on complex matters of public policy is absurd and an abdication of responsibility by our reps.

5th Cir. Judges Elrod, Willett, and Wilson hold in Knife Rights v. Blanche that knives are "arms" under the 2nd Am. The Fed. Switchblade Actβ€”criminalizing the interstate transport, introduction, or distribution of switchbladesβ€”is unconstitutional. This seems correct to me.
Ca5 strikes down the Federal Switchblade Act, holding that knives have been used throughout human history, thus switchblades are arms protected by 2A.

Someone said that this never happens, and I thought about it and there are at least 8 or 10 of my neighbors I'd give one to if there was an emergency that them being armed would ameliorate, and I had a gun to spare.
