How do you keep history from repeating itself?
To start, you don’t keep doing the same thing over and over again and hope for different results.
If you want the outcome to be different, you need to do something different.
How many times in the last 78 years have Muslims shot rockets at Israel, attacked Israel, murdered Israelis, kidnapped Israelis and committed various other terrorist attacks against Israel and Israelis?
What happens each time?
Israel responds. Takes out rocket launchers. Sometimes enters Gaza. There’s a brief war. The international community calls on Israel to show restraint. Israel withdraws. The international community sends more money to Gaza, which gets used to prepare for the next attack.
For 78 years. Rinse. Wash. Repeat.
And now, people are mad at Israel’s response to Oct 7. They feel it’s “too much” and that Israel should leave Gaza.
Some will agree that Israel has the right to defend herself, others will not.
While some will agree that Oct 7 was one of the most barbaric massacres ever, they will claim the response is beyond defence.
Guess what? Defending yourself doesn’t just mean stopping the immediate attack. It also means bringing back any of your people that were taken, and making sure the attackers aren’t able to attack you again.
Israel has listened to the international community. Many times. Each time, the same thing happened and it’s resulted in more dead Israelis. More dead Jews.
When does history repeat itself? When we don’t learn. When we keep doing the same things over and over.
Do you know where else history is repeating itself right now?
In just about every Western nation. The UK. The US. Canada. Australia. France. Germany. The list goes on and on.
The explosion of antisemitism.
The normalization of Jew hatred.
Israel sees the cycle, and will ensure that the war that Hamas started will break the cycle by ensuring Hamas can never attack again.
The rest of the world needs to see it as well.
Because right now, they’re letting history repeat itself.
And that, will destroy our civilization.

CBC deliberately inverted the story
They opened with: “Israel has closed off the West Bank after Israeli soldiers shot and killed two Palestinians near Hebron.”
The actual sequence—that two armed men from Hebron drove up, got out of the car, and opened fire on the checkpoint, triggering a 20-minute gun battle in which the attackers were killed—was buried nearly two and a half minutes in. Only then did viewers learn about the large quantity of weapons and ammunition, Israeli officials saying the pair were planning a major attack on civilians, and Hamas praising the “high-impact operation” while calling for more violence.
BBC, CNN, The Washington Post, and The Times of Israel all led with the attack itself. CBC chose not to.
This is not neutral sequencing. Leading with the Israeli response while delaying the fact that the dead men initiated a terrorist attack is a classic framing choice that makes the aggressors look like victims—days before Israel’s election @brodiefenlon

I am not Jewish. But I am a proud Israeli citizen. I live in Tel Aviv. Despite the world having extremely opinionated views about the country I live in, few people I have come across on X (that don’t live here) know little of substance about Israel apart from their warped sense of history and reality. This is the first post of a series I will write entitled Everything You Think You Know About Israel is (Probably) Wrong. The points are not in any particular order. Spread the word.
Most Israelis (just over 50%) are not white. The devastating impact on European Jews of the Holocaust meant that the newly formed Israel in 1948 was largely populated by Jews fleeing persecution in Muslim-ruled countries predominantly in the Middle East and North Africa. These are known as Mizrahi Jews and when the State of Israel was formed they made up 80% of the Jewish population living here.
Jews have had a continuous presence in the land of Israel since around 1208 BCE, that’s 3,200 years — long before the creation of the state of Israel in 1948. The Muslim faith, in contrast, dates back 1,400 years (610 CE). Yes, when they lost majority rule in the 7th-century Muslim conquest they were not in the majority for centuries, but still lived in their ancestral homeland.
Arab terrorism against Jews existed before 1948. In 1929, for example, 67 Jews were killed in the Hebron massacre, attacked and slaughtered by the Arabs they lived and worked beside. My wife’s great-grandfather Ben-Zion Gershon (who was a local doctor that often treated the Arab community without accepting payment) was tortured, had both his eyes gouged out and was then murdered. This was after his daughter Esther was raped in front of him, and his wife Zahava had both arms chopped off and was left to die. This was just one of many similar massacres inflicted on Jews that day.
I will continue this series over the coming days.

We will all soon know what it feels like to be Jewish. In France, they already do.
It will be our just deserts for having abandoned the Jews, ignored their warnings, turned against them, and even marched alongside their oppressors.
For three years, you useful idiots have been parading Palestinian flags, sporting keffiyehs, screaming “From the River to the Sea”, and recognizing a fictitious Palestinian state as a reward for Hamas’s October 7 massacre (looking at you, @EmmanuelMacron). You have boycotted the only Jewish state in the world, vilified the Jewish people’s right to self-determination (aka “Zionism”), and spread the “Gaza genocide” blood libel.
Did you really think that if you fed the crocodile enough Jewish flesh, it would eventually be satiated? All you have done is embolden the monster and whet its appetite.
So you were worried about “colonization”? Look around. The only thing being colonized here are our own Western cities. The Palestinian flag has become a victory banner, proudly waved amid the ruins of looted and vandalized historic buildings—a symbol of hatred for our civilization and everything it stands for.
It never ends with the Jews.

As a Muslim Arab, I am disgusted and heartbroken by what I saw across Western cities on October 7, 2026: people celebrating the October 7, 2023 massacre. Glorifying the murder, rape, and kidnapping of civilians is morally bankrupt, inhumane, and a disgrace to humanity. This wasn’t an ISIS or Al-Qaeda camp. This was in Western cities: people openly celebrating a massacre carried out by the filthy Muslim Brotherhood terrorists of Hamas against Jewish children, women, and civilians from all around the world in Israel. Utterly shameful.
How did we reach a point where this needs to be explained? An eight-month-old baby was kidnapped. Women were raped. Children were murdered. Families were slaughtered. Human beings were dragged from their homes.
No cause justifies this.
No country justifies this.
No grievance justifies this.
Nothing justifies raping a woman. Nothing justifies kidnapping a baby. Nothing justifies murdering innocent people.
And to see people in Western cities celebrating, glorifying, excusing, romanticising, or sanitising this horror in the name of “democracy” and “freedom of speech” is beyond disgusting.
It is morally bankrupt. Shameful. Depraved. Inhumane. Heartless. Indefensible.
What breaks my heart most is that we are even having this conversation.
When did rape require a political explanation?
When did kidnapping babies become something to celebrate?
When did massacring Jews become something people could cheer for in the streets and still pretend they were standing for humanity?
There is nothing progressive about celebrating barbarity. There is nothing courageous about glorifying terrorism. There is nothing democratic about cheering a massacre.
This is not humanity. This is a moral disgrace.
And the fact that anyone can celebrate such suffering should make every decent human being, Muslim, Christian, Jewish, or otherwise, feel both heartbroken and furious.

A Statement of Conscience on October 7
I will not start by saying ‘as a Muslim’ or ‘as an imam’, but as a human being.
On October 7, over 1,200 innocent people were killed in a single day. Families were shot in their homes. Young people out dancing were hunted across open fields. Over 250 people, including children and the elderly, were dragged into Gaza as hostages. I think of a mother hiding in a safe room with her baby’s mouth covered. I think of a father listening as the line went quiet. I think of families who waited month after month for someone to come home, only to receive a coffin. I didn’t need my faith to recognize the evil of what happened. My heart told me first.
But I’m a Muslim and an imam, and I owe the world one honest sentence: what was done that day was a crime against God. God teaches that whoever kills one innocent soul, it is as if he had killed all humanity.
This day has an author: Yahya Sinwar. He planned it, ordered it, and knew what would follow. Every death of that day and war he started rests on him and Hamas leaders who sat in tunnels and foreign hotels and called slaughter a victory. It rests on every Palestinian leader who cheered, excused, handed out sweets, or said nothing. They chose this. They own it.
But Sinwar did not invent himself. He was the fruit of a tree planted almost a century ago by the Muslim Brotherhood. Hamas named itself in its founding charter as the Brotherhood’s branch in Palestine. The Brotherhood’s poison is slow. It arrives through study circles, youth camps, charity boxes, and kind words to lonely young men. Drop by drop, it teaches him that his religion is a political party, his neighbour is his enemy, the Jew is the cause of his sorrow, and God is pleased by rage. By the time the gun arrives, the soul is already taken.
I have seen this poison in mosques where sermons became rallies and young men could recite slogans but not sit still for a verse on mercy. Every people that let the Brotherhood in has paid in blood and ruined generations. It has never built anything it did not first set on fire.
Behind Hamas stands another hand: the IRGC. It was the IRGC’s money, weapons, and training that turned a hateful idea into an army. One calls itself Sunni and the other Shia, and they may curse each other’s creeds, but they are united in what they worship. It is not God. It is power. The same IRGC that armed the killers of October 7 shoots Iranian girls for showing their hair, hangs young men for asking to be free, and has left graves from Tehran to Damascus to Beirut. They speak in God’s name. So did Pharaoh speak in the name of heaven.
So let me say this clearly. Hamas and the IRGC are not merely enemies of Islam. That would be too small a charge, as if their crime were only against us. They are enemies of God. God is the Giver of life, yet they deal in death. God calls Himself the Most Merciful, yet they have made cruelty a sacrament. God honoured the children of Adam, yet they look at a child and see a target or a shield. To murder what God created and sign His name to it is the oldest blasphemy.
And we Muslims have been too quiet. Some of us were afraid. Some told ourselves it was not our business. Some, God forgive them, felt something other than horror that morning and never confessed it. Silence was the soil this poison grew in. I will not add to it.
So on this anniversary, let us say plainly what our scripture already says. The Jews are not our enemies. They are our cousins in Abraham, and their dead were created by the same God who created us. Today belongs to them: the murdered, the hostages, and families who still set a place at the table. To them I say: I am sorry for what was done to you by men who used the words of my prayers. You’re not alone in your grief or remembrance.
The enemies of God are those who murder in His name. We know their names. It is time we said them from our own pulpits, in our own voices, before they speak for us again.

Canadian journalist goes to Israel… and the two-state dream dies on the spot. 🇨🇦🇮🇱
Standing on the border, she points to an Israeli military hospital treating Syrian women — ages 8 to 80 — who were raped by ISIS.
Then she drops the truth bomb:
“I came here believing in the two-state solution.
I really did.
I’m at a point now where I frankly do not.”
“The only way this tiny piece of land stays free… is if Israelis are in control of it.”
Because if you hand any of it to the PLO or Hamas —
it will look exactly like Syria.
Sometimes the most powerful pro-Israel voices aren’t Israeli.
They’re the ones who actually showed up and opened their eyes. 👀🔥
Serious question:
The laws against racial discrimination also prohibit discrimination based on a disability, the professional code of ethics for teachers also say the same, so why have we spent 30 years "surfacing people’s beliefs and concerns about inclusion (myself included)?" Every Ed. Leadership book/course/etc. says you start systems change for inclusion by "surfacing concerns, engaging in discussions about shared values and goals, etc."
Would we "surface concerns" about having children of color or of a minority faith in their class? Would we negotiate, over 30 years (literally), how they feel about it? Would we be concerned about what the parents of Caucasian kids would feel?
AT what point do we say it’s not an option to be racist or ableist if you are a public school teacher? If a principal would call out a staff member expressing racist views, why are they allowed to express discriminatory and stigmatizing ideas about kids with disabilities and argue against their right to attend school or claim it's not their job to teach them?

A series of open miracles on the flydubai flight that very nearly went down with a plane full of passengers.
Miracle 1: A plane full of people survived an attempt by the copilot to crash their aircraft. Passengers and crew broke into the cockpit and subdued the attacker after he stabbed the captain.
Miracle 2: Two off-duty flydubai pilots happened to be on board. They took control of the plunging aircraft and landed it safely.
Miracle 3: The plane plummeted and spun out of control - spiraling some 17,000 feet. It ultimately touched down with a chunk of its rudder missing.
Miracle 4: They landed in Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia has no diplomatic relations with Israel. Yet when an aircraft carrying Israelis was in mortal danger, Saudi Arabia became their refuge. Saudi authorities received them, kept them safe, and got them onto a replacement aircraft that flew them directly from Saudi soil to Tel Aviv.
For all the reasons to despair about the Middle East, don't miss what happened today.

We're all laughing about the 1980s action-series vibe of this morning.
A bunch of heroes in flip flops saving a flight after storming the cockpit.
A physician passenger on hand to treat the wounded pilot.
A pilot passenger landing the plane with a broken wing, with Saudis suddenly treating the Israelis like long lost cousins....
Even A-Team and McGyver (young'uns, look them up ) sounded more realistic.
But after the incredulous laughs... it's a miracle. We could be weeping for 170 murdered Israelis now, and a new era of djihadi air terrorism.
Which has begun, thanks to Iran.
Today, on Orange shirt day, we remember the children. The ones who came home, and the ones who never came home. You can't have reconciliation without truth. We have to own our history, and then forgiveness may happen. Take a moment today, and imagine the neighborhood you grew up in. Now imagine the RCMP come, and they remove every single child between the ages of 3 and 16. ALL OF THEM. There are no children left. None. Every adult in the entire neighborhood is grieving the loss of their children. Every child then grows up without parents. The cycle of knowing how to nurture, how to parent, is broken. Kids return at 16 not speaking their language, unable to communicate with their parents, their community. They suffer from PTSD after horrible abuse and the trauma of being ripped away from their parents and everything they knew.
This is not ancient history. The last residential school closed in 1996. That means there are people IN THEIR 30's who are survivors.
And still, they live in communities with underfunded schools, no clean water, insufficient housing.
We have to do better.
Take a moment to remember the children.
TRUTH first, then RECONCILIATION.
