I totally get where this is coming from, and I also understand people who enjoyed the sketch (I chuckled in parts myself). Yes, we do get what SNL is, but the most important element is in the end of this tweet: “If we were in a global media landscape that was flush with portrayals of Nigerians or our culture with excellence…” It’s not as if there’s been an abundance of global representations of Nigeria/Nollywood in the best light. We need more of that than the token SNL content.
