Great to note this @fssai. The promotion of breastfeeding - EIBF, exclusive breastfeeding and complementary breastfeeding - is also very important for infants. Happy to note that @MinistryWCD has made this a part of the poshan tracker. Now we will have anganwadi karyakartas following up with lactating mothers regarding this aspect also which will be critical in better nutrition. We are fully in support of #BHAVANI Bharat Volunteering Against Nutritional Insufficiency
Hope this kind of action continues as we see growing number of violations of this law.
This news and many more that appeared today made my day at last government begins to enforce the IMS Act.

The affidavit from @fssai is expected to be available soon. We request all experts and all vigilant citizens to help us draft a collective response to the proposal that the @fssai would place forward. We are confident that the proposal from FSSAI this time would be in tune with public health interests and eagerly look forward to early framework which makes the effective warning labels on packaged food a reality. More importantly we look forward to informed decision making by all of us. It will require more than just warning labels to create a social environment that is promotive of each other’s health. Nutritional education in schools has been mentioned by Honourable Courts in which socialhealthclub.in would be a big step to set up a non commercial platform for students in schools and other educational institutions.

The Supreme Court of India has sought clarity from FSSAI on the proposed warning labels for packaged foods high in fat, sugar and salt.
The Court has raised important questions on:
🔴 Red hexagon warnings
🍬 Total Sugar vs Added Sugar
🧈 Saturated Fat & Trans Fat
📦 Size & placement of warning labels
👁️ Pictorial symbols for better understanding
⏳ Fixed timelines for implementation
🏫 Nutritional literacy among school children
The Court emphasized that food labelling should enable clear, informed and healthier choices, particularly for children.

FOOD COMAPNIES OR THEIR BODIES CANNOT BE PART OF POLICY DEVELOPMENT
In January, I warned that Big Food was capturing India's policy process.
@Reuters recently exposed how the BIG FOOD influenced policy processes. @adityakalra
Association of food processors now wanted to delay and dilute the whole process vai the submissions in SC. @LiveLawIndia
The play book is running exactly as predicted.
Conflict of interest is not a side issue.
It is the issue.
India has a conflict of interest policy for tobacco (FCTC Article 5.3). India has none for food, health or nutrition. This must change.
A simple, enforceable policy would:
✅ Separate expert consultations from industry consultations
✅ Bar industry from co-developing guidelines/definitions/rules
✅ Bar industry from monitoring marketing/advertising e.g. remove ASCI from official role to monitor and redressal mechanism.

People releasing counterfeit versions of Anti Rabies vaccines are criminals murdering people! Rabies kills!
Abhayrab Antirabies vaccine Batch No. KE25012.
Released on 7th November 2025.
Counterfeit versions were detected recently by Drug Controller authorities.
There are many discrepancies between the original and the counterfeit version. The one that will help us is to scan the QR code, and if the vaccine information is not seen, it's the counterfeit one.
If you have received Abhayrab KE25012 or if you have received Abhayrab on or after 7th Nov 2025, please contact the health care professional. You will have to take the vaccine again if you have the slightest doubt of it being the counterfeit version.

Antirabies vaccine should not be given in the buttocks/bums! It has to be given only in the thighs or shoulders. Any vaccine given in the bums or buttocks has to be repeated.
Rabies is fatal. Do not ignore the advice given. If the bite or scratch was due to a cat or dog, and the cat/dog stayed alive for more than 10 days after the scratch/bite, it is considered that the dog/cat wasn't rabid. So, you can skip taking the extra dose, but remember that the counterfeit one/vaccine given in the buttocks or bums will not be counted as a dose for future purposes. This
'10 day' rule is not valid for scratches/bites/exposure of wounds to the saliva of the mammal, in case of mammals other than dogs and cats
