The Hidden Messages In Blackbeard's Writing
#ONEPIECE1194
Fujitora's sword is 1 of the 12 Supreme Grade Blades, and was made by a member of the Fugetsu clan, one of the 5 Daimyo families.
That alone makes it almost certain that Fujitora has a connection to Wano, most likely a family lineage.
Add to that young Fuji basically cosplaying as Ryuma, that makes it very clear that someone close to him was telling him stories of Wano's legends and lore.
Zoro's family lineage from SBS 105 may have given us the essential context clue: Of the 25 people who travelled with Kozaburo, only 10 ended up settling at Shimotsuki Village, the rest of them continued to travel.
Fujitora is most likely a Shimotsuki
#ONEPIECE
Fujitora as a child is depicted wearing the exact same outfit as Ryuma, the robe pattern, the neck scarf, everything. Could there be some connection?? 👀
The fact that Toki descended from Wano but wasn't born there is itself very telling, and it connects directly to other major lore, such as the Ponegylphs having been moved to Shandora before they were scattered.
We already know the "what, where, who, and when" regarding the Void Century. The existence of Toki and the context of her birth is itself an essential piece of information that ties previous information together.
Quick update
I'm now 6 weeks out from having had my hernia surgery, and nearing full recovery.
Taking care of myself and getting back to work has taken priority, but I intend to get back to posting regular content soon.
This will include the usual One Piece content of course, but I also intend to fulfil my designs of broadening my scope to other series, particularly Kagurabachi.
I've also been doing a lot behind the scenes to get the Youtube project up and running, and I hope to launch that soon. I know some of you have waited on that for a long time.
Thanks to everyone who has supported me, whether that be long term or recent. I greatly appreciate it.
A new chapter begins soon!
This whole situation seems too easy, it doesn't sit right with me, I am convinced Oda will flip the situation at the last moment. If you'll permit some headcanon, perhaps it will go like this -
Sommers runs away but Zoro finally catches up to him. Zoro launches an attack and Sommers begs for his life. The attack seems to land, but we see that it has been blocked by a sword. The dust settles and we see Shamrock has returned. Zoro and Shamrock's clash of Conqueror's Haki splits the sky above.
Meanwhile, Killingham is also now losing his battle with Sanji, who is dominating completely. In a moment of desperation, Killingham tries to merge with Zaza, but finds that it won't obey his commands. Instead, he gets caught in the water, and Sanji corners him. Killingham cries out to Imu to save him. Suddenly, Killingham and Zaza vanish, and Gorosei Mars now clashes with Sanji, their clash also splitting the skies above.
The sky is now split two ways, and it forms the shape of an X.
Cue dramatic boss music

I think the next chapter also might end in a double KO.
Artstyle is soo peak in this one, holy S...

Dude deserve much more likes for this one:
Gear 5 absolutely was foreshadowed in multiple ways, and I'll prove it in 3 paragraphs. And if that doesn't convince you, I've tagged an in depth analysis thread to each of them.
Firstly, as Ty explained, for those who were extra attentive, it had been evident since Enies Lobby that Luffy's Devil Fruit didn't fit the criteria of a Paramecia, and seemed more like a Zoan, which was later confirmed.
Thread: xitter.cf/TypicalJAnt/status/141…
Secondly, the true thematic significance was also alluded to, going back as far as chapter 1. "After eating the fruit, I've become even happier." - Luffy
"Making fun of him is my joy." - Shanks
Thread: xitter.cf/TypicalJAnt/status/150…
Thirdly and lastly, the revelation was also foreshadowed through narrative plot threads, going back to Shanks having stolen the fruit in the first place. Then there's also the conversation between Makino and Mayor Woop Slap in chapter 96 -
"He's a pirate, are you worried? It's his dream after all." - Makino
"His dream? Or his destiny?" - Woop Slap
Thread: xitter.cf/TypicalJAnt/status/155…
Go to Marineford and there was only two other Warlords who Doflamingo didn't dare to talk shit to, Hancock and Mihawk
An interesting point that I was discussing with a friend recently
Will Dragon battle Imu? It seems likely, but narratively, can he be allowed to win? If not, what would be Dragon's major victory?
My friend suggested that it actually matters very little if Dragon defeats Imu, because his actual goal is to destroy the World Government system.
Dragon may lose his final battle, but he could still succeed in his objective by dismantling the WG from underneath the Celestials.
In this scenario, the Celestials would lose their power around the world, and the WG would collapse, meaning that the final conflict for Luffy would be just to defeat Imu and the Celestials.
This is likely what Doflamingo meant when he said that they would be "dragged down from their lofty perch."
Replying to @mussi3x
I have no doubt, even Imu himself got into the battlefield before Dragon, Oda must be keeping something really big for him!
The main problem is that most of these people don't know how to actually be critical, and they end up just presenting ill informed opinions, or personal complaints.
In a lot of cases, especially recently, it is very obvious that these wannabe critics didn't do their research before making claims, and they just end up looking foolish.
It might sound obnoxious, but actual criticism requires genuine literary analysis and critical thinking. Just being negative isn't criticism, it is complaining.
Is One Piece genuinely bad, or are people in the writing community trying too hard to look smart by hating on something popular? 😭
I’ve been noticing how much criticism One Piece gets from people who discuss writing, and I’m genuinely curious. Does the story actually deserve all this hate, or has hating on popular media become a way for people to make themselves look more intellectually superior?
I’m not saying One Piece is flawless. It has pacing issues, questionable writing decisions, and moments that could’ve been handled better. But we’re talking about a story with incredible foreshadowing, long-term narrative payoffs, layered themes, political commentary, and character arcs that connect to events hundreds of chapters later.
You can criticise all of that, obviously. But sometimes it feels like people are so determined to prove that One Piece is overrated that they refuse to acknowledge anything it does well.
My question is: are people genuinely analysing One Piece’s writing, or has disliking popular media become a personality trait in certain parts of the writing community? 👀
On to volume 3 of Kagurabachi. Absolutely amazing stuff so far. I'm having to make myself slow down reading it just to appreciate it more.
The whole Char rescue sequence was pure cinema. This scene in particular was a favourite. 11/10

Zoro and Sanji unlock Conqueror's Haki and defeat Sommers and Killingham.
Imu is suddenly weakened and Luffy lands a major attack. Imu has a PTSD flashback to Joyboy.
Scene cuts to the library, and we finally get the reveal of Lili's message, and the secret treasure (most likely connected to the 3rd and last Ancient Weapon, Uranus.)
With this information, Robin connects the dots from all the lore she's learned before, Ohara, Alabasta, Shandora, FMI, Zou, Wano. Suddenly it all fits together.
Chapter ends with the most significant lore revelation to date, the biggest elephant in the room from Ohara's research that conveniently hasn't been mentioned yet.
The name of the Ancient Kingdom!

There are just 3 chapters left until the golden number 1200...
Share your predictions for the chapter and what you’re expecting; I’ll retweet the best or most similar ones once we hit chapter 1200.
How Oda manages to incorporate so many different inspirations and references. Film, music, literature, history, philosophy, mythology, theology. One Piece is an open portal to every kind of rabbit hole you can possibly imagine.

Another big reason why Sanji’s CoC awakening is so good is because of the arc that it comes in. Elbaf is the arc centered around all types of love. Familial love, Romantic love, Twisted love, Platonic love. Sanji’s Self-love slots perfectly into this arc’s theme #ONEPIECE1196

Those two Japanese fans criticising Oda started trending and suddenly all these reactionary opportunists are jumping on it to try and get their monthly 10k banger
Nothing in the story tells you that you're supposed to laugh hysterically whenever you see Gear 5 slapstick moments. The point of it is that it's ridiculous nature makes the in-world characters smile, and that it represents liberation from feelings of despair in the oppressed.
This really shouldn't be so hard for so many people to understand, separation of in-world implications from reader perspective is a beginner level concept of reading comprehension.
Shakespeare's Hamlet was based on the Norse Saga of Amelth. Lord of the Rings was based on myths from the Poetic Edda. Journey to the West was inspired by the story of Xuanzang. El Dorado is inspired by Meso-American myth.
Every modern story, whether it be manga, stage plays, or literature, is inspired by or making reference to something that came before it. That's called the Lineage of Literature.
