Hey all, my son-in-law is a very hard working guy. He's a carpenter and framer and works building custom houses. He's tried some of the most recommended work boots available and they simply do not last. Keen, Ariat, Justin, King Welt, Timberland, Durango, Rocky, CAT, and more. If a pair of boots make it 3 months, that's a long time for him. Some last less than a month. He's paying well over $200 per pair every 2-3 months and it's just getting untenable. Any suggestions on PROVEN high quality work boots that truly hold up under seriously hard work? They need to have a protective toe (steel or composite), lace up, and be at least 8 inches tall. He'll need winter boots soon as well. It gets down to -25 degrees and colder here.
