Economists, you do realize that you don't have to write papers on AI, right? For sure you don't have to pivot into writing papers on AI. It's possible and acceptable, even fine, for there to be something going on in the world and you don't write a paper about it. 👍

Is this the solution to the Fertility Question, JFV @JesusFerna7026 ?! 🤔
One in 46 Taiwanese babies is born to a TSMC employee. The Taiwanese gene pool is being sexually selected for semiconductor proficiency.

The honest answer to most questions in economics is "Interesting, but how is this economics?" 🥱
I think the honest answer to most questions in economics is "We don't know." That is humbling but also exciting: it means there is a lot to discover.

These are the three skills that I use to begin my reviews, now freely available for anyone to use: /review Point your agent at a folder with an article, its supplementary material, and replication package, and it will assess it. /audit-review The agent will verify the initial review, checking for accuracy and completeness. /review-digest The agent will produce a human-readable digest of the the review. I have developed these skills using the AI models of Anthropic, Cognition, Google, and OpenAI. Today, I typically run them using Opus 5.5 High. I suspect that Sol 6.1 would also produce good results, although I haven't tested it. Argon may as well. The skills burn a lot of tokens. When using them, you should remember that the results have been produced by robots and should be verified by humans. That said, verification steps are included in the skills, and the results tend to be reliable. You can use them by pointing your agents here: github.com/isitcredible/rese…. These are still beta versions, so all feedback is very welcome. I would particularly appreciate the thoughts of econometricians and anyone outside economics. Finally, I should stress that this is only how I begin my reviews. Quite a lot of human labour can go into them subsequently.

This is the level of intensity at which you need to present, while on the job market in 2027, or you're for sure your not getting an offer.

The neurotics have played their hand. I'd say this one's a "buy" now. 🤔

As the prospects of getting a tenure-track job shrink, the prestige of academia declines, and working conditions worsen, PhD cohorts in the humanities skew more and more towards ideologues, the socially dysfunctional, and the otherwise unhireable.
Massive survey of grad students finds: "Humanities PhD students were the most likely to express anti-Jewish prejudice and hostility to Israel and to consider Israel/Palestine to be an issue of personal importance, compared to other graduate students." brandeis.edu/cmjs/antisemiti…

I hope they do this by dropping any "gen ed" requirements, and disincentivizing shopping between and within majors. Then again, I am naive.
3-year degrees are gaining momentum. NYU President Linda Mills: “Universities are due for another evolution: offering 90-credit, three-year bachelor’s degrees in fields that demand immediate workforce development.” “Four years of college is not an inviolable standard.”

Hey @grok @bot, can we please have a headless client we can run on cluster nodes, remote boxes via ssh, just to have the bots use the hardware, without the Electron 🙄 frontend? It would be much cooler if we could.

NEW: Robert Reich calls for the "defunding" of Elon Musk, calls for Democrats to go after Musk's companies. "Democrats ought to [start] laying the groundwork for nationalizing Starlink & SpaceX... It should be a public corporation." Does he want Musk to drop another $50M on the midterms?
