Analytics has become a straw man for former players to disagree with the improved way to assess risk in an NFL game. SF is going for it because they have the number 1 offense in the league this year and field goals are worth far less than touchdowns on a per possession basis.

NFL should place a pylon with cameras on the field where the first down marker is. Cooper Kupp play today would have both the drama of reaching for the pylon with all the cameras necessary to get the call right. Easy solution that increases drama!
