Imagine spending weeks assembling the perfect 60 Minutes deportation tragedy, only to discover that immigration cases come with actual fucking paperwork.
CBS promoted its masterpiece at 5:18 p.m. By 6:09, DHS General Counsel James Percival had publicly announced he'd pulled the man's immigration file and found a rather interesting complication.
Fifty-one minutes. That's how long the celebration lasted before someone brought documents to the pity party.
Just think of the production effort. The sympathetic interviews. The grieving family. The solemn atmosphere. The carefully selected emotional details. An entire television operation dedicated to making America feel terrible about deporting Moussa Diawara.
The only thing missing was apparently a sufficiently thorough examination of the case they were turning into a national morality play.
And the paperwork was spectacularly inconvenient.
CBS emphasized Diawara's fear of religious persecution following his conversion to Christianity. Percival said the immigration file identified his claimed fear as persecution for being gay.
That's the sort of discrepancy that might warrant a question or two before the dramatic music swells.
Then comes the really delicious part.
CBS acknowledged that America could legally deport Diawara. His protection concerned Mali. American authorities transported him to Ghana, whose government subsequently sent him to Mali.
A complicated legal distinction, certainly. Almost enough to ruin the atmosphere.
Somewhere between the family interviews and the finished production, the story apparently became much more emotionally compelling than the unresolved questions underneath it.
And that's the exquisite black comedy of the whole disaster.
60 Minutes has spent decades cultivating an image of fearless investigative excellence. The stopwatch. The gravitas. The legendary reputation for digging relentlessly until the truth emerges.
Yet its showcase deportation story was publicly challenged in less time than it takes to watch a single episode.
The network famous for investigating everybody else finally encountered its most terrifying adversary.
A government lawyer with access to a filing cabinet.
Apparently, the one thing nobody expected at 60 Minutes was for somebody to investigate the investigation.

But for now, it’s gratifying to see Comey—who opened Crossfire Hurricane in 2016, misled a secret terror court, ambushed the incoming president with lies about Russian prostitutes right before Trump took office, set up General Michael Flynn, leaked classified memos to the media, lied to Congress, and pushed for criminal charges against Trump and January 6 protesters among other chicanery—on the ropes.

🚨 NOW: Speaker Johnson just told millions of Americans EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS if they don't vote red this November
- Nonstop retribution against President Trump and his administration
- Opening the border wide open again
- Repealing the working families' tax cuts and economic gains
- Chaos every day for two years straight
"Everybody has to ask themselves a simple question: which set of policies is better for my family, my aging parents, my children? You have to vote Republican."
@SpeakerJohnson is spot-on. And Dems would use it to try and hold ICE HOSTAGE to reopen the border and turn us into France and Spain
Even if a voter doesn't like 20-30% of a Republican's policies, 100% OF DEMOCRAT POLICIES WILL RUIN THEIR LIVES.

While everyone was focused on the SAVE America Act, Trump and his administration have quietly taken measures to combat Democrat election fraud schemes.
-Citizenship verification
-Voter roll maintenance
-Enforcement against non-citizen voting
-Election processes
Flashback to the critically important Trump v. Slaughter ruling at the Supreme Court on June 29, 2026. This ruling gave POTUS massive control over two dozen independent regulatory agencies, to include the Elections Assistance Commission (EAC).
Trump purged the EAC in July, just days after Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that he had the authority to unilaterally fire EAC commissioners, and all four seats still remain vacant. Trump purged the heads of the agency and never appointed anyone to replace them. The EAC is effectively in a state of limbo, and Trump said he’s allowed to leave the seats vacant, and that the agency will be totally aligned with their election priorities.
Since then, Trump has signed EO’s and taken measures to combat illegals registering for mail-in ballots, cleaning up voter rolls, prioritized DOJ maintenance and non-citizen voting laws, and more.
The DOJ have also been demanding and suing for unredacted voter registration lists, and have been instructed to increase enforcement of non-citizen voting. The DOJ have it clear they are no longer allowing voter fraud to slide.
Trump has been doing everything he can to secure the election without the help of the Senate GOP and the SAVE America Act. Will it be enough? We shall see, but based on how the Dems are behaving, I think Trump has done enough, and I think both sides know it.
Prepare for the Dems to start crying about the EAC and the Supreme Court Trump v. Slaughter ruling back in June, because it’s coming.

Like George W. Bush before you, the responsible thing is to stay out of politics.
