You don’t really need to install all of what Viva New Vegas says. But using basic stability fixes like tick fix (and disabling/replacing autosave) will basically guarantee that your game won’t crash or that your save file won’t become corrupted if you play it for too long.

This just isn't true. I play the game unmodded, no problem. New Vegas definitely has technical issues, but they're far over blown.

+ it was nice to have peace of mind with YUP/JSaywer knowing that quest scripts wouldn’t just break or have to cross reference with the awful fandom wiki (this was before the independent one existed) to see if perks actually worked as advertised. Modding NV is still a good idea.

this is the best breakdown I’ve seen of the dark arts behind Block Blast!, the most downloaded mobile game in the world last year intentionally making players lose to optimize which ads they see, the sophistication behind such a “simple” game is stunning.
