please don’t stop. don’t stop doing what you love most. don’t put off the routines that make you feel good, don’t abandon the hobbies that keep your mind occupied and are part of your personality. look back ... but don’t keep looking back. don’t stop learning and growing

I know the year hasn’t ended yet, but I’ve been looking back on how much my life has changed in the last year. The only thing I can say is that being able to pursue my dreams still feels unreal. My life has changed in so many ways that would be too long to put into one message, and I am eternally grateful for those who have pushed and supported me throughout the way. It truly means a lot to me knowing that there are people out there that not only enjoy the work that I do, but want to push me to do better - after all, I do firmly believe that there will always be room for improvement, and I will always aim to push myself to do better.

your relationship with yourself cannot be built entirely around improvement. at some point, you have to become someone you are allowed to enjoy being. you get to be proud of who you are. present tense

remembered this from Hélène Cixous' essay Love of the wolf (the quoted poem is by Marina Tsvetaeva)

changing every “i should have known better” to “i know better now”. don’t judge past versions of yourself through the lens of who you’re now, you did the best you could do with what you knew. forgive yourself for all the mistakes you made again and again and again!!!!

at some point, you have to accept that you can’t go back, and what happened to you is going to be with you for the rest of your life. but it’s still going to be okay.
