Guards with the ability to drive downhill and get a bucket at the rim… With the exception of Braden occasionally, Purdue has been missing this since Jaden Ivey. These athletic guards are going to bring a completely different dimension to this offense.

Zach Edey out-hustles Draymond Green two times in the final 2 minutes, directly resulting in 4 points for the Memphis Grizzlies:
1) beats everyone down the floor for a loose ball and finds Cam Boozer, who hits 2 free throws.
2) pushes Green around like a ragdoll down low for a huge offensive rebound, leading to two free throws for Jaylen Wells.
Need to add that Zach Edey was absolutely awesome down the stretch -- contested several shots in multiple spots on the floor (at the rim on drives, and coming up to the level to contest Curry's 3s). Tracked down and won every loose ball. Massive on the boards.
I understand the minutes restrictions with his injury, because they need to do everything in their power to ensure he's healthy. His impact is transformative
Having a 4 that can move his feet this well is refreshing. No need to worry about him getting switched onto guards on defense. First clip, he gets switched onto the guard and is able to stay in front of him to force a kick out. Second clip, he shows off his athleticism on offense
Ertel and Antione bring so much energy off the bench, and it’s a completely different play style from the first unit. Those two complement each other so well. Ertel pushes the ball down the court and a 3 point shot goes up with 24 seconds still left on the shot clock😂
The impact Zach Edey had in the last two minutes of that game was incredible. He won the grizzlies that basketball game.

Purdue’s backcourt has multiple X-factors who will take a leap this season, and Gicarri Harris is one of them.
He brings defensive discipline, a strong base, and the ability to stay in front without biting on fakes. Shot 35.5% from deep and has the burst to get downhill.
The next step is expanding offensive production. With a bigger role, Harris will need to create advantages off the dribble, put pressure on the rim, and become a more dependable playmaker.
@BoilerBurner1
The offseason talk has centered around which of the guards will start, but Jack Benter’s name is flying under the radar. He should fare better as a wing than as TKR’s backup power forward. His wrist injury affected his shooting down the stretch last season, but now he’s healthy👌🏼
Looks like Edey was the better college player and the better pro🤣 @MostlyHoopsShow @ConnerHKnapp
Since this tweet was able to generate some attention, I’d love to shift our focus towards @wallyball, the biggest Purdue hater of them all. As it turns out, Wally, Zach Edey did meet back up with Knecht and proved why he was the best player in the country…You weirdo.
Similar to Ryan Cline, Gicarri Harris has waited patiently for his turn. His time is now, and I expect him to take full advantage of this opportunity. The lil dog breakout is coming📈

The thing that pisses me off about the media voters who can’t make a layup is that they play both sides.
For example, when Matt Painter takes an unranked team (nerds’ opinions) to a top-4 seed by March (which he will) we’ll hear “oh Purdue should’ve been this good, of course Painter has them playing well”. There will be no admission of error as media nerds can never be wrong.
Matt Painter is going to take a team that is unranked in their polls to at least a top-4 seed in the NCAAT and they’ll turn around and give their Coach-of-the-Year vote to a HC that took a top-5-team-all-year to the number-1 overall seed. Just watch.
