The Second Army Region commander has personally inspected Hill 642 along the Thai-Cambodian border, spending more than two hours assessing the situation after reports that Cambodian troops attempted to climb to the cliff top using ropes.
Thai forces have reinforced the area with barbed-wire barriers on both sides of the cliff, deployed troops at strategic positions and placed heavy weapons on standby. The military says it remains on high alert to protect Thai territory and public safety.
