A message from former Director @Pompeiana79 on the ending of @5collBLDH: "A final word of thanks goes out to the genuinely hundreds of people who led, worked for, learned from, and/or engaged with our program. You are why we succeeded and why we are here." 5collbldh.org/dh/sandbox/end…

And now I realize I should've given @edrabinski a heads up— but hey she's got a shout out: metadata, queer life, and library cataloging! <3

Of course @frolickingrogue's project reminds me of @beyondtheriot's work with zines and interactive cataloging in their @5collBLDH project years ago. This is a fabulous confluence of forces. (@alanakumbier @MicheleHardesty + Nora and Leslie Field!)

That's a wrap! Thank you to everyone who attended the @5collBLDH Symposium, bearing with us through the technical difficulties that characterize virtual living. A HUGE congrats to our undergraduate #5CollDHFellows! Successful presentations all around.

@Pompeiana79 reflecting on @5CollBLDH having run its course: "#DigitalHumanities, or what will one day be called 'humanities'"

"The degree to which we've succeeded in the #DH realm is the degree to which DH and humanities recognize they exist within the same ecosystem" - @Pompeiana79 #5CollDHFellows
Thanks Shreeansh! That ends the presentation portion of the @5CollBLDH symposium.
Question for all fellows: "Question for all fellows: Do you see any points where your work intersects with others', perhaps a possibility for collaboration?"
Vivian and Destiny share experience about having practiced their presentations together. Food networks and incarcerated women... intersectional similarities: there are pieces missing from the Archives

Eric: #DH platforms allow us to tell narratives. Letting the #Omeka project lead. Sometimes the narrative is the result of the data, sometimes the data lend to new understandings

? from @Yael_Rice: Your project combines computational analysis, using #DH methods, & interviews w/ artists, collectors, gallerists, etc. How do you think your interviewees would respond to the DH findings? Did your findings map onto any information these individuals shared?
2nd question: What inspired you to approach your research question using computational methods? Is it common in the field of art history?
Agrawal's response: Pierre Bourdieu and theory on taste, the way taste is influenced by class. Not common, but increasing work is being done. #DH discourse analysis. "There's a lot that's promising."
#5CollDHFellows
Agrawal's conclusions: Shilpa Gupta moved toward biennale circuits, Jitish Kallat moved toward exhibition circuits
Future directions:
Relationship with curators?
Further building dataset for museums
Incorporating curators, gallerists, etc. Individual agents.

#NetworkGraph of Exhibition Circuits:
- Shilpa Gupta and Jitish Kallat at at the center of biennale circuits.
- Some satellite exhibitors – more ‘group’ behavior
- Very well-connected peripheral figures
