Vault withdrawals and all other protocol functionality remain restricted out of an abundance of caution. Our team and partners are working to ensure a safe restoration of full functionality as quickly as possible.
We have identified and contained the two paths used during this incident. Both paths involved sophisticated, multi-step transactions targeting publicly inspectable program logic and private transaction-building APIs. The attacker first targeted the SOL Genesis Vault using a misconfigured combination of asset-pricing parameters that caused deposited collateral to be valued as a different asset, enabling an undercollateralized loan of approximately $412K. They later used an atomic transaction bundle to sell a loan carrying an extreme interest rate into the USDC Genesis Vault, inflating its NAV and enabling a disproportionate redemption of approximately $521K which our systems halted within 30 seconds of transaction generation. No user deposits will incur a loss.
We will share further updates from this account as our investigation progresses and additional functionality is safely restored.

Over the past week, Loopscale has been targeted in a sustained campaign by a sophisticated actor, with the protocol APIs receiving more than 30,000 malicious requests per day. All deposited user funds are secured.
Earlier, our security systems detected a significant escalation in the campaign, and we promptly acted to pause protocol activity to mitigate impact. The attack attempts targeted the SOL and USDC Genesis Vaults. Affected vaults have been made whole and no user deposits have incurred a loss.
The protocol will not resume normal operations until we have established the complete scope of the campaign and implemented further security hardening. We will be re-enabling the protocol interface shortly and are working to resume repayment functionality as soon as possible to mitigate unforeseen liquidations.

Binance faces inside-job allegations as it delays proof-of-reserves report after $6.3 billion hack.
These scumbags announce their Proof of Reserves (PoR) monthly. I keep saying that during that one-month interval, they manipulate the market using customer funds to liquidating people in the process and then put the assets back where they belong before the announcement date. That’s why Backpack’s daily PoR is so incredibly important. But unfortunately, brainless investors fail to see this.

Binance has begun recovering affected assets for users and continues to work with law enforcement, issuers, blockchain intelligence firms and industry partners to trace, freeze and recover additional funds.
The company has already publicly committed to cover losses through company funds in the prior announcement.
Binance has already reserved over $6.34B of company funds to cover this incident. $5B of these funds are already held in the exact token assets that were impacted. We are completing the purchase of the remaining amount by buying token assets through market channels and OTC channels. We are doing this to match the format of the remaining token assets and address any asset shortfalls. This step can take longer because some tokens may have low liquidity and OTC settlement also takes time. We will share more progress as soon as we can.
These figures do not include frozen or protected assets, which remain subject to ongoing recovery and verification. Currently, $3bn has been frozen, with thanks to our industry partners. We are working with partners and law enforcement to recover the frozen assets.We will continue to use company resources to cover confirmed shortfall and will provide further verified updates as recovery efforts progress. Ultimately, all user funds will be verified publicly through our Proof of Reserves.
