My advice for November: set a ridiculous, audacious goal that scares you and will stretch you so you can re-acquaint yourself with your *actual* capacity instead of remaining trapped inside your perceived capacity.

I just bought myself one of the hottest new book releases... and I took a moment to be thankful for that privilege
Growing up most of the books I read were from the discard piles at libraries. My mom would gather as many as she could when she traveled to the US & send them to me
My father call to ask if I want lunch and honestly, I'm so blessed & thankful🥺
These last few weeks I've been struggling a bit to find the energy to take care of myself.
Need to head back to Dominica and Jamaica soon. My regional travels in the last year were great... but there was something special about these two islands. I loved the versions of myself I embraced there.
The women in my life inspire me. I watched my friend navigate some of the hardest chapters in the last year... and now life has blessed her with the opportunities she deserves!
I'm so proud of her for not giving up. For continuing to be brave and betting on herself 🥺❤️

I started writing notes in my books & signing them. Where & when I bought/ found them/ who gifted them to me
Hopefully when I'm old these notes will bring me back to those places & times. & hopefully when I'm gone whoever inherits them will enjoy this little roadmap into my life

I love reading because it gives me new vocabulary for my experiences
This morning I noticed the beauty in the specific angle of the sunlight through the trees. My brain excitedly lit up with the thought 'komorebi'. I learned it from Kevin Jared Hosein's 'Second Lives' recently

Our suffering is caused by holding on to how things...
might have been,
should have been,
could have been.

I don’t want us to become a tourism destination. I want us to become a functioning nation that doesn’t depend on other nation and can take care of our people like we should’ve been doing.

There is a version of poverty most people never talk about.Full grown adults who never learned to swim, cycle, skate, or play an instrument. People who never took a gap year, never traveled, never spoke a second language. It is not a lack of interest. It is a lifetime of hustling

Someone posted: The ruling class doesn’t need you to think capitalism is good. They just need you to think any alternative is worse. Your apathy is just as good to them as loyalty.
