proud to have helped bring this one to life.
girls who play sport become women who lead, and pro sports matter to this flywheel.
give it a read and let us know what you think.
🚨 It’s time to close the visibility gap. 75% are fans of professional women's sport, yet 62% of fans don’t know where to watch.

Now overlay these price increases into the discussion that the salary cap issue is about "parity" and "what the fans want"
If you still believe any of the CBA talk is about parity or fans...
I've got some ocean front property in Arizona
From my front porch, you can see the sea
I'd consider me and my wife in the upper echelon of diehard sports fans. We plan our lives around our teams, including having full season tickets to the Lightning and a quarter season plan to the Rays.
We make it a point to not schedule any vacations during the Stanley Cup Playoffs window or MLB Postseason. It's that serious.
We chose to not opt in to this year's Rays postseason tickets because of the cost. Full stop.
Could we have done it? Sure. Would it have been the wisest decision to make? I don't think so.
The cost of our seats increased by approximately 103% for the ALDS, 338% for the ALCS, and a mind-boggling 790% for the World Series. We haven't even gotten to parking yet.
That increased by approximately 233% for the ALDS, 333% for the ALCS, and 400% for the World Series.
I'm well aware that prices increase for the playoffs and that the league sets those, but the amount these increased is astronomical and out of reach for a large percentage of fans.
Single game prices are even more expensive, when you consider Season Members are offered their seats at a discounted rate.
Because of this, we only purchased tickets to Game 1 of the ALDS and Game 1 of the ALCS.
I hate that we can't be in attendance for every game, but making a foolish (and emotional) financial decision isn't the answer. I can't begin to imagine how out of reach this is for families with children.
Fandom isn't defined by asses in seats or if you're willing to go into debt. MLB and sports throughout North America need to look in the mirror and stop the greedy profiteering.
Ragging on fans for choosing work and essentials over tickets and arrears only makes you look bad.
You know where to find me tonight!👌

There aren't enough ways to say thank you, or how lucky we all are to have played for #10. Legend doesn't even start to cover it. It wouldn't have been too soon if he'd been inducted 10 minutes after his final game. Just the best!

It's such a bad business to be a small market team in MLB that billionaires in multiple cities are lining up to pay multi-billion dollar fees to join the league
Remember that when they tell you "they just can't compete" or that "ownership is a losing proposition" this winter!
Expansion is coming to MLB. Not officially, but with the Rays and A’s stadium situations settled, the path is clear for it to happen after the lockout ends. Here is everything you need to know about the cities that want baseball and where they stand. youtube.com/watch?v=4Db2aGpV…
Had a teammate w/Padres who said he was "17," his "younger sister" was 19, and he was 20 back home.
Then there was a guy who couldn't say the name he signed with...And a batting champ who aged 3 yrs one offseason, a P with new name/age one yr.
A fun chapter in the book lol
A Dominican prospect who got a $2.8M pre-deal was found to be two years older, part of an elaborate age-fraud plot that involved a fake identity, a fake death & a fake tombstone.
More on his story, a glaring example of a market rife with corruption …

NEW: Major League Baseball owners now get paid more to have a losing team.
We investigated the playbook that allows teams like the Marlins and Pirates to rake in the largest sums of cash while paying players the least.
Billionaires win no matter what, while fans lose out.
Heard this on @MLBNetworkRadio yesterday, fact checked and my mind is blown🤣
"Every team wins 60 games, every team loses 60 games. It's what you do with the other 42 that makes the difference"
Since 2000:
20 teams had<60 wins
14 teams had >102 wins
42 games, that's it?
If this is now a single, I want a damn recount on my career stats...I rolled over plenty of balls right at the 1B, I'm sure there's a few more hits sprinkled in there. Can I demand restitution for this too? Lost contract wages? Any lawyers on here? LOL
But but but that one guy who didn't want to be here said the fans were big stinky poopoo heads and meanie pants! 🤣🤣
Former Maple Leafs goalie and now-retired NHL alumni Jack Campbell reflected on his time playing in Toronto, saying it was the coolest experience of his career and that the biggest challenge was never the pressure from fans or the media, but the pressure he put on himself.
“Playing in Toronto was the coolest thing in the world. Waking up on game day and opening the blinds, it felt like Hockey Night in Canada every single game,” Campbell said.
“Nothing in the media or on social media could ever be as bad as the way I would talk to myself. I loved every second of having the opportunity to play there,” he added.
“Toronto, man, I can’t stop smiling. Even though I would have loved to have been there forever, my time there was the greatest time of my life.
I met my wife there. The friendships I have there are incredible… I’m just really grateful for the fans. It’s one of the coolest things to look back on.”

If this had ANYTHING to do with competitive balance (like the owners want you to believe), then why are they ALSO looking to
A) outsource player dev to NCAA
B) cut the draft down
C) limit draft signing $$
D) limit high end contracts
It's about owners pocketing more $, that's it
anybody that plays @MLBTheShow online actually throw any pitches in the strike zone? The entire game online is just dudes throwing shit in the batters boxes or dirt. Insanely boring

Celebrated for doing the absolute bare minimum expected of them? You signed to play, you show up for practice and games.
This isn’t something to celebrate, it’s historic ineptitude. What planet are we on that showing up to your job (it’s a job at that level) deserves praise?
The Sarnia Legionnaires lost all 50 of their Jr. B games this season, but they're anything but losers. In fact, this group of players needs to be celebrated.
