people who say Dead to Rights (2025) is propaganda: my question is how? yes, it tells the story of 1937 nanjing from a chinese perspective. is that not the most trustworthy source? who else should tell the story in order for it to not be propaganda? japan?

it's like saying Grave of the Fireflies is propaganda. but it's just a story that you think you know, except it's being told from a perspective you haven't heard it from before. that doesn't make it propaganda.

for 阿嬷的情书 (dear you) to be SO highly rated as a mainland movie that came out in 2026 is so impressive... i guess the people yearn for a doomed relationship with a little sapphic twist (no but really i cried so much and im still not over it)
